The next morning I woke up and ran around my house to get ready. Gio was going to be here to pick me up in less than 20 minutes, so I woke up pretty late. I put on the first outfit I could find and walked downstairs to the kitchen. My mom was already down there when I finished descending the staircase.
"You better hurry up or Gio is going to leave without you." My mom shouted to me while I was running around trying to find my jacket.
"I know mom, cant you see I'm doing my best to hurry." I say while slipping on a shoe and grabbing my headphones off of the table. I hugged my mom and walked outside to find Gio in his car, waiting for me. I walked over to his car and got in.
"You look like you just crawled out of bed." Gio laughs as he tells me. The smile on his face was sincere, more sincere than normal.
"I did." I respond while laying back in the seat. "I didn't even have time to eat anything."
"What do you mean? You've gotta eat Leila." Gio says to me while staring into my eyes.
"I know Gio, I just didn't have time this morning." I responded while pulling down the mirror, so I could put my hair up.
When we arrived at school I walked over to Adriana, not caring that Alex and Carlos were over there too. Adriana and I are going to hang out tonight, because it feels like we've been growing apart. We haven't hung out in a while because Alex and I split apart.
"Can you fix my hair?" I ask Adriana while pointing at the mess of a ponytail on my head. Adriana took out my hair band and redid my ponytail.
"Thank you so much, I'll see you tonight." I tell Adriana while pulling her into a hug.
"Yayyy, I can't wait!" She tells me as I'm walking back to Gio.

(Alex's POV)When Leila came over to have Adriana fix her hair, it hurt. I miss her so much. I never seem to see her around anymore, even though we have all the same classes, it's not the same, I miss the way we were. Today in school was super boring without Leila there with me. I really wish we didn't break up, I miss being with her, I can't stand this anymore. When I went home, I walked straight into my bathroom. I locked the door and sat with my head against the wall. My phone was on the counter, so I didn't hear my mom call. After my mom got home, she found the bathroom locked, with me in it. She banged on the door a few times, but I didn't open it.

(Leilas POV)Gio dropped me off at my house and drove off. He had some family business to attend to, so we weren't going to hang out tonight. After awhile, I got a call from Alex's mom. She told me about how he locked himself in the bathroom and wouldn't come out. As much as I didn't want to talk to him, he was scaring me. Think about not seeing him again and knowing that you could have done something to prevent it from happening. Even though Alex and I recently broke up, I still care about him.
"Shit" I murmured as I rolled my ankle running to Alex's house. I kept on running and ran straight into his house. His mom knew I would come, so she left the door unlocked for me. I ran over to the bathroom and saw Alex's mom sitting outside the door.
"Alex, why did you lock yourself in there?" She yells through the door. I can sense the pain in her voice. She had no idea if he was ok, it was a frightening sight to see.
"Everything sucks." He responded faintly. "Leila doesn't even care about me anymore. I don't want to lose her."
As I heard this, I started to break down. Of course I still care about him, he was my first actual boyfriend, I'm always going to have a connection to him, I'll always love him.
"Alex, that's not true, Leila still cares about you." His mom said through the door, softening her tone.
If only he knew I was here, then he would know how much I care about him. I really do still love him, I was just trying to save myself from all the bad things that could have happened, I didn't focus on good things that would have happened. I feel like I gave up on Alex.
"Do you still love me?" I ask Alex faintly through the door to keep my voice from breaking.
"Leila?" Alex asked with a little bit of excitement in his voice.
"Alex open the door, let's talk. Come on, I need to know your ok." I say through the door, hoping to convince him to open the door. Alex still didn't open the door and it made me nervous. I just wanted to know if he was ok. Maybe being apart from him showed me how much I need him.
