"You try my patience, make your choice!" the rope tightens around Raoul's neck.

I step forward but the Phantom hisses, "Christine!"

I try and search for a solution, one that will make him let Raoul go.

I step off the shore and into the water, advancing toward the Phantom.

He stands his ground as I walk toward him and start to sing, "Pitiful creature of darkness, what kind of life have you known? God give me courage to show you, you are not alone!"

Leaning forward I press my lips against his, pulling him closer to me.

I pull away and he's crying, "Pitiful, I'm pitiful?" he yells, his outburst scares me as I back away from him.

"You want to see pitiful Christine?" he yells, pulling the rope tighter on Raoul.

"Angel of music, please!" I cry, tears falling from my face.

"I gave you my music, made your song take wing, and now, how you repay me, denied me and betrayed me?" he cries.

"He was bound to love you, when he heard you sing..." he stops and covers his face, sobbing.

"Christine, oh Christine!" he sobs.

"In sleep you sang to me, in dreams you came, you were that voice which called to me and spoke my name."

"Christine, please forgive me!" he cries, dropping the rope; I can see the pain in his eyes as he does so.

I run over to Raoul, pulling the ropes off of him, I look over my shoulder to see a sad and broken looking Phantom.

Do I have feelings for him?

He was the only person who has been truly there for me after my dad died.

He made my voice come alive and he made me excel every day, his lessons, his teachings.

I owe it all to him, he's comforted me in my darkest times, not Raoul.

Raoul just came back to see me, I haven't seen him in years and I never heard from him after my dad died.

No sorry for your loss card, no, my deepest condolences, nothing.

I look back and forth from Raoul and from the Phantom.

Do I go with Raoul and let my Angel of Music rot here alone or do I stay and tell him how I truly feel?

Lost in my thoughts I didn't hear Phantom yell, "Go now, go now and leave me!"

I feel Raoul tugging my arm, taking me on the boat and away from the Phantom.

My heart feels like it's being torn in half as I hear every one who is looking for the Phantom coming.

I can't do this, I turn to Raoul and smile, tears falling as I say, "Raoul, I thought I loved you, I truly did, but now I can see it was only love for a friend, not a lover, I love the Phantom!"

I can see rage build inside him as I quickly exit the boat.

"Christine, him? He's a monster!" he yells at me.

I look back and I can see the Phantom turn his attention back to us, hearing what's happening.

"Raoul, I appreciate everything you did for me, I'm glad you were there for me but now you can be there for me and also support me by letting me go with him," I plead.

Raoul isn't having it though, as I make my way to the shore I can see the Phantom standing there, shocked.

"Say you'll share with me, one love, one lifetime!" I sing to the Phantom.
