"Past the point of no return

The final threshold

The bridge is crossed

So stand and watch it burn

We've passed the point of no return!" we sing in unison now.

I know it's been Erik the whole time, but it's nice singing with him in front of everyone without anything terrible happening.

"Say you'll share with me

One love, one lifetime

Lead me, save me from my solitude

Say you want me with you here beside you

Anywhere you go, let me go too

Christine, that all I ask of you."

The thought of pulling his mask off crosses my mind, but I don't, for I let him finish.

He's holding my hands, and I feel him slip a ring onto my finger, smiling.

Standing on my tip toes, I lean in and kiss him as the song dies down; I hear the audience gasp as I pull away.

Erik has a look of disbelief on his face after I kissed him, he cannot believe it.

I hear the crowd gasp as I look over my shoulder and the first person that catches my eye is Raoul, he's standing up in shock.

"That wasn't in the script!" he stands up abruptly, furiously looking at us, especially Erik!

"Raoul..." before I can finish, he gets up from his seat and marches towards us.

He disappears from the box, and I look at Erik, not exactly knowing what to do.

In one swift motion, he grabs my hand, pulling me behind him as we run backstage, past everyone, and to somewhere unknown.

"Christine!" I hear Raoul yell after us, his voice echoes, moving further away.

Suddenly stopping, Erik looks at me and says, "Poor fool, he's jealous."

I laugh at his remark as I catch my breath and look around, where are we?

"Erik, where are we?" I ask him as he replies, "We are out of the way, for now, we should get ready to move."

I nod but look up when I hear Raoul yell again, clearly, just like he's in the other room, "Christine!"

Losing no time, Erik grabs my hand, and we start to run, but I hear Raoul behind us.

"Christine, stop, please!" I turn around to meet Raoul's pleading eyes.

"Don't leave, say you love me!" Raoul sings to me.

"I don't."

"I'm not going to ask again!" he approaches us, drawing his sword, this frightens me, he frightens me.

Behind me, I hear Erik also draw out his sword, not another sword fight, I thought we've had enough of those?

"Raoul, Angel, please!" I plead both of them to put them down and walk away, but they don't listen to me.

Erik pushes me behind him as Raoul comes closer, "Please, don't listen to this monster!" Raoul pleads to me.

"Raoul, please leave us alone, let me go."

"No, I can't, because I'm in love with you, Christine Daaé!" Raoul yells at me, and I can feel his pain, but I don't love him, I love Erik.

Stepping forward, Raoul brings his sword down on Erik, but he blocks it, dodging the blow.

"Raoul, if you don't leave now, I'll never forgive you!" I threaten, but I didn't want it to come to this, but it has.

I can see tears come to his eyes as he turns away for a quick second, but turns back, slashing his sword down onto Erik, but Erik manages to catch some of the blow on his sword, but some of it hits his shoulder, bringing him down.

"GET OUT!" I stare at Raoul, I glare at him, my eyes filled with hate as I turn around, tending to Erik.

I can hear his footsteps receding.

"Erik, I am so sorry!" I exclaim, removing his cape to see the wound, but his hand stops me from doing so.

"W-what are you doing?" I stutter tears form in my eyes as he replies, "I'm fine, Christine!"

"N-no you're not, h-he hit you," I argue back trying to sound, but I am failing.

"Darling, I'm fine, please don't worry about me, we need to leave now!" he stands up, and I can see he is in pain.

None of the blood has seeped through his cape, which calms me a little.

Grabbing my hand, we make our way further into the opera house; he's lived here for over twenty years, so he knows all the secret passageways.

He runs much faster than I do, and I'm having trouble keeping up with him, out of breath, I start to stumble.

Tugging him back, he stops, looking back at me worried.

"Did I hurt you?" he asks me as I shake my head and reply, "No, I just am not able to keep up with you."

"Apologies," he says to me as I catch my breath; "It's been three decades since I've had someone with me," he admits to me.

"I'm glad I could change that," I answer, glancing back at him I can see him smile, something I never thought I'd ever see.

"You should smile more," I tell him.

"Shall we?" he asks me as he extends his hand out for me to hold.

"We shall, monsieur!" I take his hand as we start running again.

Minutes later we stop, and I look around, not familiar with where we are.

"Where are we?" I ask him as he pulls up a couch for us, pulling me towards him as I find myself sitting on his lap.

Surprised by his actions, I find myself blushing.

"We are in my secret cavern!"
