"Singapore Airlines headed to Singapore is in departure. Board your plane at Gate 5..."
"Wait! What's our plane?" Yoon jumped up, panicked.
Chanyeol laughed out loud. He found his wife amusing when she panics. "It's Korean Air."
She sighed in relief. Yoon sat back down and sipped on her cappuccino. "I thought we missed it."
Chanyeol shook his head at her. He leaned back on the chair and relaxed for a bit before having to board the plane. He never liked sitting in an airplane. He especially hates the time when they're taking off and landing. Even the thought of flying in the air for a long time would send shivers down his spine.
"Hey. You okay?" Concern was written all over her face as she looked over at her husband. Yoon leaned in and rubbed his shoulder.
Chanyeol's hand reached for the hand on his shoulder and gently grabbed it. He brought it down to his lap and wrapped it in both his hands. "I'm fine. Just feeling under the weather. Nothing to worry about."
"What do you mean 'Nothing to worry about'? You're here feeling sick when we're about to board a plane," Yoon shrieked as she threw her hands up in the air.
"No. I'm alright, okay? No need to worry," he assured her. Yoon nodded and dropped her head on his shoulder.
"Korean Air headed to Jeju Island is in departure. Board your plane at Gate 3..."
Chanyeol tapped on Yoon's hand that was still in his hands. He whispered softly in her ear, "That's our plane."
The two got up and swung their bags on their shoulders before speed walking to the said gate. They patiently waited in line for their turn. It hasn't even been fifteen minutes and they're already in their seats. Unfortunately, for Chanyeol, his seat is a window seat: something he never thought of beforehand. He gripped on the arms of his chair tightly. Beads of sweat trickled down his forehead as he tried to steady his breathing.
Yoon noticed this and gently held his hand nearest to her. She grabbed it and intertwined their hands. Chanyeol glanced at her and gave a small smile.
The plane was starting to take off. The seats vibrated and Chanyeol didn't like it. He inhaled and exhaled ever so quickly and prayed for their safety. Yoon tightened her grip on his hand and waited calmly for the plane to be up in the sky.
Finally, nothing terrible happened and the plane was flying above the clouds. Chanyeol glanced out the window and a small 'wow' escaped his lips.
"You see? It's fine, we're fine." Yoon smiled at her husband and let his hand go. But Chanyeol didn't let her and pulled her hand back.
They stared into each other's eyes. "Keep it there. I like it," Chanyeol said lowly, still surprised at how calm he is up in the sky.
Yoon nodded and leaned back. She felt bored after a few minutes and decided to read a book. She looked to her left and found Chanyeol fast asleep. His head looked uncomfortable leaning against the window. She grabbed a neck pillow and lifted his head gently before placing the neck pillow around his neck and then putting his head on his seat. She smiled at him before pulling a book out of her bag and flipping the pages to the page she last was on. She began reading while rubbing small circles on the back of Chanyeol's hand with her thumb, their hands still intertwined.
It has been about an hour. The plane had landed safely in Jeju. The passengers were already unbuckling their seatbelts. Yoon was trying to wake her husband up. "Chanyeol? We've landed. Get up."
He eventually woke up and pulled the neck pillow off his neck as he yawned. "Have we landed?"
Yoon hummed as a reply to his question. She grabbed her bag and followed the other passengers out the plane, Chanyeol right behind her. The two got their luggage and went to hail a taxi. Once they reached the hotel, they booked a room and got into the elevator. They found their room and settled in. After resting a bit, they decided to eat dinner at a restaurant they passed by earlier.
