let me not dream of you no more.

Last night,
I had the most terrifying dream—
you were begging to stay and bleeding
in agony as I grab the knife and stabbed your body multiple times.
It was terrifying—
that after I woke up,
I checked the right corner of my bed
if you're there
But no,
you weren't.
The empty pillow cases screams for your name.
I checked under my bed
realizing that monsters do not hide
under it—
but they do live inside your head and
thoughts lingering around as if you
gave it permission to feel at home.
I sighed in relief and prayed to God;
as long as you're not here anymore,
I am safe.
I am safe from the pain and nightmares you
had caused me.
Please let me not dream of you no more.

Let me not dream of you no more.
