Chapter 4

Clarissa Baratheon POV

I was scared.

But who wouldn't be in my situation? Four robbers with sword making their way towards a vulnerable me laying on the ground. Sure, I had some training and I did have my sword, but I still wouldn't be a match against four robbers. Still I was determined not to go without a fight. I had taken a life once before and it still haunted me, but I was prepared to take at least one of these robbers with me to my grave.

*flashback*

I heard the guards shouting after me, but I ignored them and quickly ran about a corner. The city was full of life so the guards who was assigned to guard me had trouble finding a 12-year-old girl like me in the crowds. Sure, I had a fancy dress on, but it was still hard to spot me.

The day started the same as any other, except I was allowed to go down to the market and find some new fabric for a dress. Usually the servants would just some, but I had convinced my father to let me go. Of course, he had insisted I brought along 15 guards, but they were no match for me, and it only took me five minutes to lose them.

Right now, I was sitting crouched behind a cart in an alley, giggling at guards running around the streets, looking like headless chickens, trying to find their lost princess.

Suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder. I whirled around and saw a creepy looking middle-aged man wearing sacks. He smiled at me and I could see several of his teeth missing. "What a pretty little lady like you doing here?" His voice sends shivers down my spine. I shrugged his hand of and stood up ready to go back o the safety of my guards, but before I could even take one step the hand that once was on my shoulder now gripped my wrist tightly. To say I was scared would be an understatement, I was terrified. I took a deep breath and was just about to shout to the guards when his other hand went over my mouth preventing me form screaming. "How bout I show you some fun, eh?"

He dragged me further into the alley. I tried wriggling out of his grasp but to no use. I kicked him on his shin and was about to run when I felt ice cold metal on my throat. "Now if you take one more stop or make a sound, I will slash your throat. I was going to go easy on you, but you don't deserve that now"

His other hand trailed down the side of my body all the way down to my lower back. He squeezed my ass I I let out a whimper. I felt the knife press further into the skin of my neck and I could feel the blood dripping down. My cheeks were wet from my tears.

I had to do something. Anything. I couldn't let this happen. I closed my eyes and took another deep breath preparing myself to fight. I was not just a useless little girl. I would never go down without a fight. I did the first thing I could think of and grabbed ahold of the man's hand, the one that was holding the knife, and I bit him. He screamed out in pain, but my plan worked because he dropped the knife.
