Chapter 5

Clarissa Baratheon POV

Everything was dark. I couldn't see anything, but I could feel something soft on top of me. I searched my brain for possible answers to what I could be. Maybe I was this and laying up in the clouds but a sharp pain in my side told me otherwise. Slowly I opened my eyes, at first, I was blinded by the light, but I slowly got used to it.

I was laying in a bed covered in furs. That must have been what I felt. Looking around I saw the grey stone walls and a fire place. The room was quite simple nothing decorative or excessive amount of furniture I was used to in Kings Landing. It was a really nice change of scenery.

Suddenly everything came flashing back, the fight, the robbers and the man. I wonder who it was? Maybe it was him who brought me here? Wait where is here? Where am I? Oh no what if somebody knows that I'm a Baratheon and captured me. I desperately needed some answers.

As if someone could read my mind the door opened and in came an old and grey-haired man in a grey robe of some sorts. "Oh, good you're awake, I'm sure the young lord will be thrilled to hear that" I figured he must be the master but who was this lord he was talking about?

"I'm sorry but who are you and where am I?" he chuckled "Forgive my manners my lady, I'm master Luwin the Maester of Winterfell" Winterfell? Wait I was in Winterfell. I remembered all those lessons I was given. Winterfell was home to the stark and the lord of Winterfell was Ned Stark a very old and good friend of my father. I let out a breath of relief knowing I wouldn't be harmed here.

The Maester examined me and told me that I had a deep cut on my side, but it looked at though it was healing but it would still leave a scar. "Is it alright with you if I fetch the young lord? He has been worried sick about you since he brought you here a couple of days ago" I wonder who the young lord was? Was he the man with those sky-blue eyes that saved me? I had so many questions running through my head I felt dizzy.

Instead of answering I just nodded and the maester left the room. Once again, I looked around. There was a window in the room and outside I could see what I believed must have been the courtyard, full of snow and children playing and people running around working.

I heard the door creek open and the man who had saved me walked in. "Hello" I said not knowing what else to say to the man. "Is that all you have to say to the handsome stranger who rescued you from those dangerous robbers?" God he was cocky. "Hello and thank you for saving me" he laughed at my response and I just raise my eyebrows at him.

"So, my lady, do I get your name, or do I just call you Clari?" he walked closer to the bed I was sitting in and sat down on the chair beside me. As of yet I didn't know if he could be trusted so I decided to go with my cover story. "You may call me Clari as that is my name, and I'm no lady just the daughter of a merchant from Kings Landing"

"Well, Clari, what is a beautiful girl like you, from Kings Landing doing, all the way down here?" He continued to flirt with me, but I wouldn't have it. "I don't know if I should tell you since I don't even know your name yet"

Once again, he laughed. "You are looking at the one and only Robb Stark, future lord and heir to Winterfell and warden of the north." I groaned. Not another one of those annoying little lords who thinks they are so much better than everyone else.

"Lord Stark can you tell me what happened?" The cocky smile on his face fell into a frown. Immediately I got a bad feeling about this. "You were attacked by some robbers. My men and I were near by in a hunting trip when I heard the commotion. I saw you fighting the attackers and helped you fight them off while my men went after the rest. I'm sorry but you are the only survivor from your group. But fret not because justice have been served and we caught all the robbers and they are awaiting they are sentence as we speak."

Good men who had sworn to protect me had died. I wanted to break out in tears and cry into the his shoulder but I reminded myself to stay strong. A single tear rolled down my cheek. "Thank you for that. Would you please fetch the maester?" I had to write to my father and make sure that the family of the men were taken care of.

I didn't even realise that Robb had left the room until the maester who were suddenly standing right in front of me cleared his throat. "You called for me, my lady?" I knew I had to speak to Lord Stark. "Could I please talk to the Lord and Lady Stark in private?" He looked a bit shocked at my request but left to fetch them. I wanted to stand up and dress appropriately but the maester insisted that it did not matter. It was still against everything you learned about etiquette you just hoped that the Lord and Lady would not be offended.

The door opened and a older, but still agile looking man and a woman entered. You could see the graze in the Lady's walk and even though she too was getting over she was still beautiful. This must be them. "The maester told us that you wanted to talk to us? Is there something important?"

You took a deep breath. "Yes, first of all you must forgive my manners, but I am afraid it is not possible for me to stand and greet you properly at the moment" The lady who you now knew to be Lady Catelyn Stark gave you a questioning look as if asking how you knew the etiquettes. "I am in need of help and I hoped that you would help me as you are an old, and good friend of my father"

Now both the Lord and Lady looked at you puzzled. "Who is your father?" It would be wrong to lie to the Lord, but you were still scared of telling the truth. "My father is King Robert Baratheon. I am the first born princess Clarissa Baratheon"...
