Chapter 2
Robb Stark POV
Dawn was upon Winterfell but I still laid in bed not wanting to get up, but I knew I had to. With all my will I succeeded in getting up and dressed before heading down to break the fast with my family. Everyone was already up except for Rickon and Arya. But that wasn't unusual.
I took a seat beside my father across from my sister Sansa. "Good morning Robb. Did you have a good night sleep?" My father asked.
"And good morning to you too father. And yes, I did sleep well last night." I answered while taking some eggs and bacon on my plate and started eating. I hope he couldn't see through my little lie but I didn't want to tell him about the dream I had had.
"And have you given anymore thought for your nameday gift?" My father asked. He didn't seem to notice my little lie or maybe he just didn't care.
"As a matter of fact, I have! I've decided that I want to go on a hunting trip, and not just to the woods nearby but I want to travel further south" I said proudly. I had thought a lot about it. I was used to hunting near Winterfell and sometimes we even went hunting for a week or two, but we always travelled north. I didn't mind the north and my original plan was just too hunt in the north, but something just said that I had to travel south instead of north.
I wasn't sure how my father would react, but I hoped he would agree. I was turning ten and six, so I was nearly a man, but it would still be dangerous to hunt in unknown land.
My father nodded and said, "Very well, but we must make some preparations so even though your name day is tomorrow you will leave in 5 days."
"Thank you, father." I said, though I was slightly surprised he had agreed so quickly as I had prepared a whole speech as to why I should go.
The day went by fast, and I spend most of it training with Jon and Theon. I was tired at the end of the day so as soon as I could I went to my chamber. Quickly, I changed into some night clothes and laid down on my bed. As soon as my head hit the pillow I started to drift off and sleep soon took over... and then the dream came again.
I was walking through a forest. I didn't know where I was and nothing looked familiar, but something was keeping me from turning back so I just kept walking until I came to a clearing of the forest. The sun was shining down upon a figure. I was no longer in the north, that was clear.
The figure before me was in the shape of a woman... no. A girl. She was wearing a thin white dress that clanged to her body, so you could see her curves. She stood with a flower in her hand. Her beautiful soft and delicate hand. I just wanted to touch. To hold it. To kiss it.
Her hair was loose and just hung down from her back ending at the middle of her back.
"Who are you?" I wanted to know s desperately who she was. Even though she was just a figure of my imagination I wanted to get to know her. She turned around at the sound of my voice.
When I looked her in the eyes I was stunned. It was like blizzard. Like a beautiful lake frozen by winter. I could look into her eyes forever.
"I could ask you the same thing." The sound was like music to my ears. It was an angelic sound.
"I'm...."
And just like that I woke up. I sat up in bed wondering why I kept having the same dream about this girl. I layed back down with a smile on my face. I hadn't seen her eyes before or heard her voice, but it just wanted me to know who she was even more.
I pulled up the furs as I tried to go back to sleep hoping that I would see the girl again.
Sadly, I didn't ....
The next few days went by quickly. I didn't dream anymore of the mysterious girl. Before I knew it, I was on a horse on my way out of the gates of Winterfell headed south. That was until I heard a familiar voice calling my name.
"Aye, Robb, are you trying to leave without me?" I knew his voice all to well. Roland Torren. The youngest son of Lord Torren who ruled over Black Lake castle. One of the northern houses that were bannermen to the Starks. Black Lake castle were located far more south than Winterfell, It was one of the castles closest to the south, in the north.
The north was known to be loyal, except for House Torren which only seemed to be loyal to money. Which they had plenty of.
Unfortunately, as I turned around, I saw that it was indeed Roland Torren. That stuck up prick. He had visited Winterfell many times and of course Sansa always swooned over him. But what surprised Robb was that even Arya seemed a bit taken by him, though not the romantic kind, nor Arya liked him because he was willing to teach her how to wield a sword.
Theon, of course, loved when the self-loving lord came to visit as they shared a passion for women. Something that disgusted Robb. But he had to play nice and even though Roland wouldn't be lord, except if his brothers died, he still belonged to one of the great houses and as Robb would become warden of the North after his father, he had to maintain a good relationship with the other lords. No matter how much he hated it.
"Roland, so nice to see you." I tried my best to smile.
"Likewise, Robb, now shouldn't we start the hunt? I would like to see who can catch the most prey. I'm just kidding. Of course, it will be me." The arrogant lord answered with a smirk on his face as he rode through the gates of Winterfell.
Robb hurried along as he didn't want to be left behind. He was determined to enjoy this hunt even with the new addition to the party...
