"Gill! Wake up or you'll be late for school!"
Gillian slowly opened her eyes and looked at the clock. "8:00! That's enough time to get ready". She wandered to the hallway closet and opened the door. She grabbed a light pink towel and walked to the right to the bathroom to take her shower. Once she was out, she walked to her room with the towel rapped around her soaked body and got dressed. Afterwards, she brushed her hair and went downstairs to eat breakfast. "Mmm I smell pancakes!" she said to her mother as she sat down to eat. "Well, I wanted to make today amazing. It it your last day before winter break, and your brother is coming home today!" her mother said excitedly. "Zach's coming home!?" Gillian squealed, dropping her fork on her plate.
Zach is 14 and is Gillian's older brother. He goes to a boarding school out of state and Gillian hasn't seen Zach since Thanksgiving. Gillian rushed through her pancakes and ran up the stairs to her room to grab her bag.
"Come on hun, Cynthia's already already in the car!" her mother hollered.
Cynthia is Gillian's 5 year old sister.
Gillian was just about to run out of her room when she looked in the mirror. 'I can't believe girls obsess over their appearance. I hope I never do that' Gillian thought to herself as she exited her room.
