"Gillian! You're awake!"

"Zach!" she screamed.

He ran up and gave her a big hug. He hadn't seen her since Thanksgiving, and when he finally does return, she's in the hospital.

"Mom told me." Gillian whispered in his ear during the embrace.

"Told you what?" he asked.

"About the school. What we can do. Everything." she said.

Zach's eyes widened as he looked at his mother. She smiled politely, but uneasily. Then, in walked Mr. Knight, Cynthia in his arms, and Sander in tow.

"Gilly!" Cynthia screamed as she jumped through her fathers arms.

Her father and sister both walked up and gave her a hug. Then the doctors called Mr and Mrs. Knight out so they could have a word. As they left, Sander walked up to Gillian.

"Hey Gillian. Glad you're awake and feeling better." he smiled.

"Thanks. My gosh Sander, why do you have all of these scratches and bruises?" she asked concerned.

He didn't want to tell her or anyone, but he decided to.

"I, uh, sort of attacked the guy who shot you. I was going to do it before he hurt you, but I wasn't fast enough." he said looking down.

"You idiot! You couldv'e been killed!" she yelled.

She then started laughing and pulled him into a big hug.

"Thank you for trying to be my knight in shinning armor." she whispered, kissing him on the cheek.

When he pulled back, his face was as red as a tomato.

"Are you blushing dude?" Zach laughed. He always thought of Sander as his younger brother, and vice versa.

"No." Sander said shaking his head.

"I'm just hot." he lied.

"Uh huh.." Zach taunted.

"Alright, the doctors said we can take Gill home today." Mr. Knight said.

"So lets go home!" Their mother clapped.

The doctors entered the room and unhooked all of the IV's and monitors. A nurse entered the room and brought in a wheel chair. She helped Gillian into it and off they were.
