Desi:

I wake up around ten am since my boss, Brianna, let me sleep in for a bit of time since I was really jetlagged. She originally had let me not come today, but I told her I was working today nontheless since I missed working at the bookstore.

Once I'm dressed and ready to go, I head outside and walk to my car. I get inside and start the car. When I'm putting on my seatbelt, I receive a text from Lin.

"Meet me at my house after work?"

It said. A smile creeps up in my face, knowing that I'll be able to see my man after work.

"Sure, headed off to work now, I'll call you when I'm on my way"

I respond. In less than a minute, he types back.

"Okay, babe. See you later."

I turn off my phone and put it in the passenger seat. I make my way to work due to all of the annoying traffic. I make sure to put my Spotify playlist since the radio always has songs that kind of suck, not gonna lie.

After about fifteen to twenty minutes, I arrive to work. "Hiiiii!" I greet Brianna. Yes, I know she's my boss but we're also kind of really good friends. We met each other in high school and always been really close.

"Hey! How was the trip with your mans?" She smirks and I let out a laugh. "It was amazing! Thank you for letting me take a break." I say and she shakes it off. "You got it, girl." She says and I chuckle. After a quick small talk with her, I begin my job.

It mainly consisted of organizing the shelves of millions of books, welcoming customers, taking care of the cash register, etc. But hey, I loved it. I got to deal with books and literature which I loved and it's really chill. I also get paid fairly well which is a big plus.

My work hours go by really quickly so when I'm dismissed, I was confused. That was another thing I loved about this job, the hours would go by so fast that I would constantly find myself asking, "It's time already?"

I lock up the store this time and say my goodbyes to Brianna. I call Lin to let him know I was already in the car, on my way. Once I get to his house, also known as Aspyn's house, I park in his driveway.

I knock the door twice and in a few seconds, there was Lin, standing with his big cheesy smile. We greet each other with a grand hug and a sweet kiss.

"I missed you," He mumbles against my lips, causing me to grin. "I missed you too, babe." I respond.

I see Aspyn standing over at the other side in the kitchen and I walk over to her to greet her. We give each other a quick hug.

"Hi, Asp!" I say and she smiles at me. "Hey, Des! How have you been? Lin told me a whole bunch of the Italy trip!" She exclaims and I giggle. "Well I've never been better. And yes, it was such an amazing and unforgettable experience, especially since I had this one by my side." I point at him since he was behind me.

"Hey! No talking about me behind my back!" Lin says sarcastically as he wraps his arms from behind me, making us laugh. "Awww!" His sister cooes and I smile.

"We're girl friends. That's what we do, dumbass." I say to Lin, making Aspyn throw her head back in laughter. "Facts," She says, agreeing with me.

"Well, I'll leave you to it." She smirks, making her way to her bedroom, leaving the kitchen all to ourselves. I turn around to face Lin and he grabs my hands.

"Listen, babe. I need to ask you something." He says slowly, making me slightly nervous.

"Ask away," I say, earning a small chuckle from him. "Alright, so my parents are coming home tomorrow, for the week. And I was wondering..." He trails off for a second. He gulps nervously as he speaks again. "If you would like to have lunch with us?" He offers.

"Yes, I would love to!" I say, pushing all the nerves away. Of course I wanted to meet Lin's parents, but I was kind of nervous as well. I needed to make a really good impression.

"And you could also meet mine!" I suggest and he smiles. "Yes, sounds like a plan." He kisses my forehead.
