Dipper

"Get ready guys!" I glanced up at Wendy in the crows nest, hoping that she saw a sea serpent or some other mystical creature. "We got another gremlin incoming." She called out instead. Everyone on deck groan simultaneously.

"Seriously?" I yelled back. "This is like the third time this week!"

"See for yourself." I walked over to edge of the ship and looked forward. Sure enough there was the Telepathy, sailing straight towards us. Telepathy had, what I used to thought was, a cool design on it's sails. They were colored light blue and there was multicolored star in the center with an eye. The first time I saw the Telepathy I was blown away, but now seeing it only brought a sour taste in my mouth and the thought of it's gremlin of a captain...

"Ugh Gideon!" I glanced over at my twin sister Mabel. She was wearing her favorite pink shirt, with her purple skirt, and black boots. Her brown messy hair was held in place by a purple bandanna that cover the top of her head, exactly like our Grunkle Stan's. Around her neck hung her signature sliver necklace that had a single charm on the end of the chain, a shooting star.
"Why can't he just accept the fact that I don't like him and leave us alone!" She huffed, cruising her arms.

"I warned you that he was giving off creep vibes when we first met him." I responded. Mabel stuck her tongue out at me.

"Eh, don't worry about it pumpkin." Grunkle Stan said as he came up behind us. His red bandanna, that had a symbol on it that look like a crescent moon merged with a fish, tied tightly around his head so it won't fly off. "We'll chase him off, just like we always do. Ain't that right Ford?"

"Aye aye Stanley." Great Uncle Ford shouted from behind the steering wheel. "Soos! Get the canons ready. He might try to put up a fight like last time."

"Yes sir!" I looked at Great Uncle Ford in aw as he shouted orders left and right. Great Uncle Ford was the captain of the Mystery, and the second most fear pirate of all time. The crew of the Mystery constituted Grunkle Stan as the first mate, Wendy as the young navigator, Soos as the boatswain, and then Mabel and me. Mabel and I didn't really have officially title positions, I suppose most would call us cabin boys, or girl in Mabel's case, but I offered to think of us as apprentices. Mabel took after Grunkle Stan, she loved being apart of a the action. I, however, took after Great Uncle Ford.

Great Uncle Ford may have been the second most fear pirate in the seas, but he didn't really fit the traditional definition of a pirate. He search for gold, yes, and he's been apart of his fair share of heists and rampages. But what Great Uncle Ford was really after was knowledge. He wanted to learn everything about the seven seas, and the creatures that live within it. As he traveled the sea and met new creatures, he would write down his new knowledge in a series of journals. Journals that I have study vigorously. Great Uncle Ford even lets me care one around with me. I kept it in the pocket of my vest at all times.

I wanted to be just like Great Uncle Ford when I'm older. I did everything I could to be just like him, I even tried to dress like him. Great Uncle Ford wore a heavy brown coat over his orangish red shirt and dark black pants. I tried to wear a coat and pants for a while, but I kept getting heatstroke. So I ended up switching to just a light orange shirt, dark blue raggy vest, and grey shorts. Great Uncle Ford also wore a red bandanna, but it didn't cover his head like Mabel's and Grunkle Stan. Instead it covered his entire forehead, and his hair lightly sat in top of it. He never took it off, so I never took mind off. Instead of a red one, I had a light blue and white bandanna with a blue pine tree on it. It was a gift from Grunkle Stan. I wore it like Great Uncle Ford, except a pushed some of my hair under it. I wanted to completely cover my weird birthmark.

"Dipper. Dipper!" I snapped out of my thoughts and looked at Grunkle Stan. "What're you doing knucklehead!? Didn't you hear Ford tell you to grab the wheel?" I shook my head to clear the daze that was still in my eyes.

"Right, sorry!" I said, as I began to run to Great Uncle Ford. As I arrived at his side he glanced now at me and gave me a sideway smirk.

"Get lost in your thoughts again my boy?" I smiled sheepishly.

  "Yeah, sorry."

"It happens to the best of us. Just try to stay with us while you're at the wheel got it?"

"Aye aye sir." I pushed over the small stool that Grunkle Stan made, before standing on it, and taking the wheel from Great Uncle Ford. I still didn't really know how to stir a boat this size, but Great Uncle Ford had began to teach be the basics, which meant I knew how to keep the ship straight, which is all we need.

Great Uncle Ford moved to the side of the ship, as the Telepathy came up next to the Mystery. I rolled my eyes as I saw Gideon reach his arms up like a child to his first mate Ghosteyes. Not only was Gideon the youngest pirate captain ever, he was also the third most feared pirate ever. Because of his success at such a young age he thought he was the greatest pirate in the world, and he acted like it. I never understood how such huge ego fit into such a tiny body.

Once Gideon was sitting on Ghosteyes' shoulders he yelled over to Great Uncle Ford.

"Captain Stanford, I'm here to take my sweet angle Mabel." I chuckled as I saw Mabel gag in disgust out of the corner of my eye. Gideon noticed and sent a glare in my direction before continuing. "This is your only chance to hand her over peacefully."

"Now Captain Gideon, I'm afraid I'm going to have to deny you if your request." Great Uncle Ford said calmly. "I believe my great niece has already told you multiple times that she is not interested. If you had any common curtesy you would except this and move along."

"That's not true!" Gideon yelled back. Her comes the tantrum. I thought. "She is interested in me! You and you're crew are just trying to keep us apart!"

"Not true!" Mabel yelled back. Gideon looked at her lovingly.

"I know you didn't mean that, Sweetums. They're just forcing you too." Mabel grained before placing her head in her hands.

"Alright, alright." Grunkle Stan said. "You got your answer for the third time this week Gleeful. Why don't you go on your way before I come over there and kick you off the edge of the world!"

"I'M NOT TALKING TO YOU STANLEY!!!"

"YOU ARE WHEN YOU'RE HARASSING MY NIECE!!!!"

"Calm down!" Great Uncle Ford yelled. "There is no need to get in a fight." He gave Grunkle Stan a smug glare. "Besides Stanley, if my calculations are right there isn't an edge if the world. It just keeps going, like a circle." Grunkle Stan rolled his eyes.

  "Har har." He muttered.

"I bet you could still do it though." Wendy laugh, nudging him. "I mean look at him. He's so tiny, he couldn't weight more than one pound."

"THAT'S IT!" Gideon yelled. "GHOSTEYES! BEISHT KIONE!"

  "Right away Captain!"

"The Beshi...The Beshe what now?" Grunkle Stan asked, while quickly rewording his question after glancing at Mabel and I.

"The Beisht Kione." Great Uncle a Ford said. "It's a beast that lives in Shores of Ireland. It names means 'The Beast with the Black Head.'"

"That's right Stanford." Gideon taunted. "And thanks to the Amulet of Kion I can control it!"

"The Amulet of Kion? But I thought that was lost to the sea centuries ago." I questioned, looking at Grunkle Ford.

  "It was." He said frowning.

"Uhh, dudes!" Yelled out backing away from the side of the boat. "We got a problem!" Suddenly a giant black serpent merged from beneath the water. Its' eyes to scan the Mystery until they rested on Mabel. It let out a hiss as it marked it's target.
  "Get her!"
