Tord groaned as he started to wake up.
His arm was in agony.
He opened his eyes, surprised to not find himself at home or in the hospital.
No, where he was, was far from that.
He was still in the forest.
Beneath that cliff edge. At the bottom of the slope.
"Wha.." He managed to sit up, glancing around.
He'd pull his sleeve up, examining the wound.
It was his left arm that was injured. He had large cuts going down his lower arm.
They were huge claw marks- confirming that it hadn't been a dream.
But he also couldn't move his arm. He started to panic.
What could be wrong with his arm?
He pulled the sleeve all the way up, past the shoulder. Which was surprisingly hard.
His shoulder looked dislocated. He could see part of the bone through his skin.
It was disturbing. He pulled his sleeve back down, sighing.
This was bad. The entire situation was bad.
He got a concussion, then tossed off of a cliff because of Tom.
Why the hell did he still want to help Tom then?..
He managed to stand up somehow,
starting to try and find his way out of where he was.
~ ~ ~
He had been stumbling around aimlessly for a while now.
He had no idea where he was. He had no idea where home was.
How would he get out of this one? His arm was still bleeding slightly too..
He feared that he could bleed out at this rate.
A memory hit him as he continued to walk around.
Tom had been crying after he pushed Tord off the cliff.
Why? Tom wouldn't have pushed him off if he didn't want to, right?
He paused, examining his surroundings.
Then the smell hit him.
It was the stench again.
The same smell that he smelled when..he was next to those animal corpses.
Could he be near somewhere he knew?
He followed the horrible smell, hoping to find something familiar.
And he did.
He found the same pile of dead animals he had the day before.
Wait had it only been the day before?
Or had he been asleep for multiple days?..
He examined the pile, seeing no difference from last time other than the bodies looked older and the stench was worse.
At least I know where I am now..
He'd walk around the corpses again,
trying to remember where he went last time.
He turned and ran somewhere last time, right?
He couldn't remember so he just picked a random direction and went that way.
He'd walk that direction, hoping that he'd find the path like he had last time.
But after a few minutes, he was losing hope.
Would he ever find his way out of this stupid forest?
~ ~ ~ ~
After a while, his legs felt like they were going to break.
He was getting tired of walking. At this point he could just..lay down and die.
Wait- No. He couldn't give up. He needed to bring that asshole home.
Tom was coming home. Tord wasn't gonna stop until Tom came home.
He paused, swearing he heard something. It sounded like yelling.
As he listened, he realized it was getting louder.
It sounded like someone was calling out for something- or someone.
He'd follow the voice, hoping they weren't also lost or something.
As he got closer, he recognized the voice.
It was Edd's voice.
"Tord! Tord where are you?" Edd called out. He sounded worried. Which did make sense.
Tord quickened his pace, trying to find Edd.
He suddenly came out from the trees and onto the path.
God damnit. He was so close to finding it himself.
Edd gasped as he saw Tord.
Tord's hoodie was ripped, his arm got totally fucked up, his hair was messy, his clothes and skin were covered in dirt, and to top it all off he couldn't use his arm or walk straight.
"TORD!" Edd ran over, helping Tord continue to stand. "What happened to you?! You've been gone for two entire days!"
"..I..have..?" Tord managed to say. His mouth was dry and his voice was barely audible.
"Yes!!" Edd replied, helping Tord walk down the path.
Tord just assumed they were going to the hospital.
"But seriously- what happened??" Edd questioned, giving Tord a puzzled look.
"I-" Tord starting coughing. It was like he was choking on nothing.
"Woah- Are you okay?!" Edd stopped, pulling Tord in front of himself.
Tord nodded weakly as he mainly stopped coughing.
"We need to get you to the hospital. Like- now!" Edd said in a panicked voice.
Tord just nodded as they continued to make their way out of the forest.
~ ~ ~ ~
They had gotten to the hospital about 15 minutes ago.
Once the employees saw Tord, they immediately freaked out.
He did look like shit after all.
He was in his hospital bed, wishing he could do anything.
He still couldn't use his arm, since they hadn't dealt with it yet.
Well, they had dealt with the cuts. But otherwise it hadn't been dealt with.
But since they said it was just a simple dislocated shoulder, it would be put back into place easily.
After a few more minutes of waiting, a doctor would walk in.
It was the same one from before.
"Ah. Tord Larkson. You just keep getting yourself hurt, huh?" She joked.
"Yeah. I guess so." He laughed slightly. Since he had barely been able to speak before, they had given him a drink of water. Which helped greatly.
The doctor walked over, examining his arm.
"Say, what did you do anyways?" She asked as she continued to examine the arm.
"I uh-" Tord was cut off by the doctor.
"You didn't happen to run into that creature the news was talking about, did you?"
"Oh- uhm..no." Tord said hesitantly.
She gave him a suspicious look before shrugging. "Alright."
She pulled away from him, walking across the room to a cabinet.
She opened it, pulling a few pill bottles, examining them before putting them back.
After a minute or so of her doing this, she finally pulled out one, examining it and putting it on the counter.
She'd close the cabinet, picking the pill bottle back up.
She'd walk over as she shook a few pills out into her hand. She'd close the pill bottle back up, setting it down on his bedside table.
She'd hand him two of the pills and the cup of water that had been on his bedside table.
He took them, taking a sip of the water before dropping the pills into his mouth.
He'd take a second before swallowing them.
"What were those?" Tord questioned, looking at the doctor.
"Painkillers." She said, walking around to the other side of the bed.
"Why do I need those?.." He watched as she walked around the bed, the side where his injured arm rested.
"I'm gonna have to relocate your shoulder. Which is extremely painful. It can get so painful that it makes people pass out. Though I gave you the painkillers, they aren't gonna set in soon enough." She explained.
"Oh.." He looked down.
"Are you okay with me doing that now?" She asked.
He'd just nod. He'd close his eyes, preparing for extreme pain.
"Alright. I'll do it in 1," She grabbed his shoulder, positioning her hands.
"2," Her grip tightened slightly.
"3." She said before relocating the shoulder. The popping sound was barely audible because of his scream. It was so painful- And just like she said, he passed out because of the pain.
