'Cmon Moh pick the call now. This is the nth time I'm calling him. Today is my best friend,my brother in law's birthday and I don't even know the reason I'm disturbing his phone.Am I to celebrate or grieve?
"Ash?"My wife called.
"Labbaiki ya Marwa."I answered.
Marwa was 'her' friend, her only closest friend.'Her' best friend.
"They are ready Ash" My beloved informed me.
"Okay Marwa I will be there in a jiffy. I drive my children to school, I don't trust drivers.
"Good morning Abbi." They chorused.
"Good morning my kids how was your night?"
"Alhamdulillah Abbi."They answered happily.
"Masha Allah.Have you had your breakfast?"
"No Abbi." Aisha my first child answered.
"Ha'an Mami you are late o". I said jokingly.
"Abbi,Mami has been clying" Khalil complained and he was on the verge of crying too.
"Marwa,Sabr please your prayer is what she needs,I beg you in the name of Allah stop crying."I pleaded.
"Allah Al-Hayyu Al-Qayyum appoints our life and death,he protects and sustains all that exist, he gives and takes what is rightly his. Who are we to question his judgement? "
"Every soul shall taste death remember? I asked to which she nodded.

How could she forget her? Her 'kawa? She could recall when they use to sneak into Mal. Iro's farm,when they steal fish from Man Buba,when they beat the hell out of any unlucky soul that crossed their way,...she cant even list their naughty acts. May Allah forgive them.

" 'Kawa where are we heading to?" Marwa asked 'her' after biting her unripe Mango. They plucked it from Mal. Iro's farm,more of stealing though,He is a very no nonsense man, but he never scare them,to them he looks more of a statue. To cut it short, they regard him as Iro mai jan baki because of his orange teeth. Kolanut in action.
"Marwa Let's just go to Man Bubale his fish should be ready by now."The 'kawa replied.
They headed to Mal. Buba's place,causing troubles here and there,beating the 'beatables',hissing when the need arises,insulting the insultables... Two rats.
"Man Buba mai kifin da babu kamarsa"(Man Buba our one in town fish seller ).
Marwa resisted the urge to laugh at how her friend was grinning sheepishly for she didn't want to ruin their plan.
"Ha'a Goggo's girl a sako kifin ne"? (Are you going to buy fish).Man Buba asked grinning from ear to ear.
"No Baba we are just here to greet you."Marwa came to her friend's
rescue for she was already in Jupiter,drooling all over.
"Akwa'daya "She whispered and her 'kawa rolled her eyes.
"Okay that's good 'yan albarka".Man Buba said.
"Wayyo Allah yaji"(O my God pepper) shouted Marwa who was already dancing.
"Ya Allah how come" ?her friend enquired slyly sneaking a very big seasoned fish into her squeezed Hijab. Marwa did that on purpose to divert Man Buba's attention and it worked.
"Goggo's girl she needs to wash her face."Man Buba said worry evident in his voice.
"Okay Man Buba, Let's go home so that you can wash your face. "
And they managed to leave Man Buba's table snickering.Yauwa akwai feast yau. Their fish, unripe mango, the 'dan tamatsitsi they snatched from Dije (their rival),If not because Goggo's girl has gi'bi,(A space that forms when ones tooth removes), they could have snatched Idiwalle's Goruba, Nevertheless that was saved for another day.
At the age of 10,they were the topic of discussion in their village,they disturbed the peace of everyone,non living things inclusive,they have a PhD in bullying,snatching and stealing.
"Mami yunwa",Ummi brought Marwa back to reality.She massaged her temple before she let out a breath.
"Okay Mamana just wait a minute."She scooted out of her bed and sauntered to her kitchen.
"Abbi,you said Zara is coming to our school,will she come to our class? I want her to be my best friend, she is cute Masha Allah and she is smart,she even knows A B C D,her Daddy teaches her everyday.Abbi why don't she come stay with us so that Mami would be her mother since hers is in Aljanna(Paradise).Mami likes her afterall."Aisha(Ummi blabbered).
That was his suggestion when 'she' died but Moh was unyielding. He said he sees 'her' in his Zara so he couldnt leave her. She was only 1 but he assumed the role of her Nanny, her mother,her sister, brother,friend...he became her everyone and everything.
When she was 3,he refused to enroll her in school, he was not ready,not that he couldn't sponsor her but for the fact that he was afraid he might lose her.
"Ummi go and have your breakfast,Zara will be in your class Insha Allah." With that he picked his car key and trailed behind her
How was the chapter? Boring ryt don't mind me, Who missed Zara and Moh? New characters are here who is confused? what can you say about Marwa and her 'kawa?
