She tip-toed into the courtyard trying so hard to remain unnoticed by her mother ,she held her bag with her right hand while her shoes were on the other hand. The clingy fitted-gown she wore dangerously hugged her curved figure, yeah she is one of those curved people that are referred to as 'figure 8'.She screamed class, an epitome of beauty so to say.
But beauty is not all about appearance,it isn't complexion, figure or outfit that signifies beauty,it is in the heart,it is not seen,it is been discovered.
"Saudat!!! "A voice that seemed to be her mother's called.
"I'm ready for you" She grumbled before dropping her shoes.
"From where are you? "Her mother asked with narrowed eyes and a raised eyebrow.
"Lol" She gave out a chuckle before she continued "Really Ladi you are asking me? " She asked her mother with a half
smile. "Okay since you asked,I will do you the courtesy of telling you "She steepled her finger, shaking her head with the half smile still plastered on her cute lips that were painted red."I'm from the mosque and please close your mouth."She finished her statement gesturing to her mother's mouth that was wide agape.
Ladi couldn't think of anything, she closed the mouth, staring at her daughter with wide eyes."Who changed her daughter? "She asked herself.
Saudat on the other hand was busy typing on her phone, keeping her mouth busy with a chewing gum.
"Language Saudat you are addressing your mother remember? "Ladi finally found her voice.
"Mother? Really Mother?"The question was directed at her on self rather than the monster that just claimed to be her mother.
"You are not my mother, you don't even deserve to be a mother, I regret being your daughter. "She thundered looking straight into Ladi's eyes unblinkingly.
"Say whatever you feel like saying just give me my share".Ladi lifted her shoulder in a half shrug before clasping her hands behind her body.
Saudat clenched and unclenched her fist, trying so hard to stifle the hot tears that were threatening to burst out of her sexy eyes.
"You are wasting my time young lady,I need to sleep you know " She winked before she went on "I'm meeting my dream guy tomorrow" She gave out a humorous chortle.
Saudat just leaned against the wall, clasping her wrist in the opposite hand, tapping her right toe on the ground and shooting death glares at her selfish mother who sends her own daughter to clubs and hotels at night in the name of making money.
"Fear Allah, you shall account for every single act of yours on 'Yaumul Qiyamah'." Saudat said with a shaking voice.
"Who the hell changed you Saudat, look if you are sleeping better wake up,and mind you, Better stop calling me Ladi before we move into Alhaji Adam's house because by Allah if you dare show them our true colour I'm going to curse you." She replied calmly as if she doesn't find threat in way her daughter was shooting daggers at her.
"Do you think being my mother gives you the license to force me disobey Allah? Tsk tsk, Don't you think of the day Allah will ask you of my upbringing? I know for sure you are planning on something evil about this marriage and wallahi if you dare harm anyone most especially Muhammad you will regret ever giving birth to me." She managed to say this in between sobs, her face was drenched with suffering tears, she was regretting all she did in the name of making money, how on earth would her mother to this to her, she didn't send her for once to school, she didn't show her the right way.
"Even though my father died of heart attack, I know that you were responsible for his death, instead of you to turn back to Allah, you decided to go astray, taking your daughter along." She wiped her tears before she threw her bag at her mother.
"Today is the last day and by last day I mean I've stopped performing sexual acts for payments."She said disgustingly.
"And about who changed me it was 'Muhammad Adam Gaya' the son of the man you are planning to fordo,he didn't even know me yet he helped me, he preached to me, he showed me the way when my own mother failed to do so." She said smiling in between tears.
"By the way you are smiling it is obvious that you are in love with Muhammad, easing my work for me by the way,I have that plan in mind, you have to marry him and I vow to make his life a living hell, he must regret ever knowing and helping you, Bad ass."Ladi grimaced triumphantly before she opened Saudat's bag, she brought a bundle of 100 Naira and threw the bag back to her daughter.
"Better start packing your stuffs because the wedding will be in four days to come." Ladi said and with that she left to her room.
Saudat sat on the ground, she pulled her legs up,resting her chin on her knees, she knew that she once had a crush on Muhammad, but he didn't know of her existence then, but why is her mother saying that she loves him? Whatever it is she isn't going to marry him she isn't selfish. She could still remember what he told her:
"Assalamu Alaikum " He said.
She flinched before she stopped on her track and turned back to face him, he was holding a bag that read 'Alumma Chemist',the mere sight of him constricted her heart,he is as handsome as she knew him then in their primary school or even more.
"Waalaikumussalam".She answered scratching her nape nervously.
"Where are you heading to in this hour of night?"He asked checking her out.
"Ermm.. "She stammered darting her eyes here and there not meeting his gaze.
"From the way you dressed and the way you coated your face with this make up and all I sense something wrong."He said thoughtfully.
"Anyway as a muslim you aren't supposed to dress like this, don't you know that it is an invitation to devils? " He asked to which she nodded her head in the affirmative.
"Infact, the Prophet SAW warned those people who do not observe modesty in dress, calling them "types among the people of Hellfire", one of them being "women who are clothed yet naked".
It was Narrated by Abu Hurayrah
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: Two are the types of the denizens of Hell whom I did not see: people having flogs like the tails of the ox with them and they would be beating people, and the women who would be dressed but appear to be naked, who would be inclined (to evil) and make others incline towards it. Their heads would be like the humps of the bukht camel inclined to one side. They will not enter Paradise and they would not smell its odour whereas it odour would be smelt from such and such distance (from great distance)."So please fear Allah my sister, you are going to die and you will account for your acts, you have to be conscious of the life after death."
That was how he advised her for almost an hour, she thanked and promised him that she was going to change.
"Focus readjusted " She whispered heading to her room.
