Next Day
"So you just put it under like this and push it down really hard and..." *pop* "It pops right off." Jake smiles at me. He's teaching me how to open a beer with a lighter. I try it a few times but fail.
"Fuck this." I mumble and toss the lighter back at him. He giggles and wraps his arms around me.
"You'll get it someday. But right now we gotta get to your house to open the present I got you, birthday boy." He says pulling me up.
I sigh. "You didn't need to get me anything." I say.
"Yes I did. And I want you to open it before the party tonight. Now lets go!"
-
I open the door and Jake pulls me in. "Mrs. Jackson! We're home." I hear my mom squeal and put something in a box. I raise my eyebrows up at Jake.
"Okay honey! Come in!" My mom yells from the kitchen. Jake drags me into the kitchen eagerly. Mom hands the box to Jake and Jake hands it to me. I place it on the counter and slowly un-tie the bow. I lift up the cover and jump back 7 feet and yell a little when something jumps out of the box and on me. My mom and Jake laugh uncontrollably while I'm on the floor shocked.
"What the hell was that!?" I half yell. Jake bends down to pick something up and I realize it's a bunny. My mouth slightly opens and he places the small fluffy thing in my hands.
"Oh my God..it's adorable." I smile wide.
My mom chuckles and grabs her purse. "Well I have a meeting to get to. Have fun, boys." She leaves.
-
"Thanks for the bunny." I say. Me and Jake are laying on the sofa watching Family Guy. He plays with my hair.
"You're welcome." I take his hand and start playing with his fingers as he tenses up. I look at him.
"Everything okay?" I ask worried.
"Yeah." He nods and relaxes. I look back at his hand and trace his palm then trail my fingers down to his wrist then stop. He tenses again. I feel my eyes burn with tears. "Troye?" He whispers.
"Why'd you do that?" I ask. A tear falls from my eyes. I quickly wipe it waiting for his answer. I sit up. "Why did you do that to me? Do I not make you happy? Do I make you sad or something?" He sits up and scoots closer to me.
"No. Of course not." He says kissing my cheek. I push him away and stand up.
"Yes! Yes I do! If I made you happy you wouldn't do that!" I point to his wrists. He looks down.
"Its not you. Other people make me upset." He says quietly. I sigh and rub my eyes. I get closer to him and pick up his wrists. I look at them and place little kisses all over the cuts. He smiles slightly and holds my hand. "I love you." He whispers.
"I love you too." I smile.
-
"Dude! This party is going to be sick! Look at all this stuff!" Austin says helping me put plastic cups on the tables. I chuckle. A few friends came to help set up like Daisy, Austin, Dawson, Jake, Avery, and RJ. All my close friends.
"I hope so." I smile wide.
"Boys! Let Krystal take pictures of you guys." My mom tells us.
"Sure." I smile. Austin drags me to Krystal.
"Okay lets to a funny one, a smiling one, a posing one, thumbs up to the camera and the last one will be a surprise." Austin says. I nod an okay and smile. We take the pictures accept the last one.
"Krystal, you ready?" Austin asks her. She nods. He looks at me and smirks. "Smile at the camera." He says. I face Krystal and smile. He grabs my face and kisses my cheek. I smile wider and Krystal takes the picture.
"Okay! I'll take more later!" Krystal says and goes over to dad.
"Lets go finish." Austin says and pats my back.
"Okay." I smile and look across the room and see Jake looking at us. He seems hurt. He probably saw the pictures. I look away and go with Austin.
