It took another week before Astrid finally convinced me to tell my dad who I was. I'm so nervous that I lost focus and actually ran into people. It was so embarrassing. I make my way to that Great hall to tell Stoick the Vast chief of Berk EVERYTHING. I have no idea how this was going to end but I have a feeling it wasn't going to end well. I walk up the high stairs and stood at the door. I heard Astrid behind me putting a hand on my shoulder.
"You'll be fine." she whispers in my ear and kisses me on the cheek. I turn around and gave her hug hoping it would calm me. It didn't. I let a breath that I didn't know I was holding and opened up the doors. I walk straight until I felt steps in front of me. Just a few feet away was my father sitting with the tribe, enjoying his breakfast telling stories about his past. I was way too nervous to eat anything this morning. I felt Astrid's hand on my shoulder again indicating that she'll be here when I get back.
"Stoick, may I speak with you outside?" I say trying to keep my voice steady. I don't think it worked.
"Of course, Lad." He says not knowing what I was about to tell him
"I'll meet you in the forest Astrid." I tell her. I'd rather be as far away from my father as I can in case it doesn't go well.
I followed him outside trying to calm my breathing. I feel like I'm panting like some animal who just did 2 hours of exercise.
"What is it Lad? Are you ok?" He asked gesturing to my extreme breathing.
"I'm fine just really nervous about what I'm about to tell you." I could he wasn't going to say anything so I continued with what I was going to say.
"Ok so... how in Thor's name do I tell you this?" I say shaking my head.
"I usually just say it. Don't think about it." Stoick said trying to help me out. Which it did. What came next will change everything.
"Ok here it goes... Stoick the Vast, I am your son Hiccup Horrendous Haddock the Third" I flat out said. I closed my eyes waiting for what something bad. But it never came.
"Please say something or I'm just going to walk away and pack my things to leave."
"What am I supposed to say 'welcome back?' 'I missed you'. Well I'm not saying any of that. Why did you leave?" He asked angrily. That was kind of unexpected.
"You're kidding right? You're actually asking why left? Well if you don't know now, you'll have to figure it out." I turned on my heels and left to go into the forest to find the only person who didn't ask why I left or even questioned it.

I arrived at the cove and was attack by a heavy body landing on me.
"Toothless get off me" he cooed happily and got off me and started jumping around crazily
"What did he say?" I heard Astrid say behind me. she had hope in her voice
"He asked why I left. He couldn't even figure it out. He couldn't figure out that left because of him." I say looking down. I felt a hand lift my chin up.
"if he doesn't figure out, I know you'll tell him... eventually" she laughed which made me laugh.
"you know, you have the most beautiful laugh?" I tell her I say wrapping my arms around her waist.
"oh really?" she says putting hers around my neck
"yeah. Or maybe it's Ruffnut?" I tease her and started giggling
"don't lie." She says before placing her lips on mine. My grip around her waist tightens trying to bring her closer to me. I hear Toothless grunt in the background which made me roll my eyes. Astrid pulls away and starts laughing.
"Thanks Bud. Love you too." I say making Astrid laugh harder.
"what are you laughing at huh?" I say trying to sound mad
"nothing." She says before giggling more
"oh really?" I say before tackling and pinning her onto the ground. I start tickling her and within seconds her laughs fill the cove.
"Hiccup, stop. I'm sorry" she continues to struggle to get away from and I stopped to gentle kiss the side of her neck.
"HeY." she yells at me. I smirk and walk to the river to put my feet in. I felt her behind giving me hug.
"I promise everything will work out" she kisses my cheek and joins me, also putting her feet in the water.

After chilling for a while, Astrid and I walk back to the village to get food. We walk into the Great Hall only to not hear anything. I know people are in here they're just not saying anything.
"Everyone. Welcome home the heir of Berk!" I hear my father yell. I hear cheers and clapping. Just for me. I also heard a lot of 'welcome home' but I just ignored it. I can already see what's going to happen. They are going to start treating me like I'm this blind defenceless Viking who can't do anything but run into things. I sat down with the teens and just listened to them talk about their day. I'm glad they're not treating me different. Maybe they'll be the reason I stay. They know I can take care of myself. Probably because I can beat them all at once but they believe in me. That makes me happy to be here.
