Ellana P.O.V.

The start of a fresh new day brought itself hope and a new beginning. I felt better today, knowing that perhaps Kean hadn't cheated on me after all. I was highly intrigued as to what this misunderstanding was. I didn't want to let my guard down fully, but I also needed to hear him out. Our relationship deserved that respect and trust.

So I got dressed, cleaned myself up better than before and head downstairs. I was ready to give him a fair chance. I unblocked his number and inhaled a deep breath.

"Morning!" Valerie chirped beside Carter. He was leaning back in his seat casually with an arm wrapped around Valerie's shoulders.

"Good morning you two," I smiled, taking a seat. "Don't mind if I do..." I murmured, taking a plate to fill it with eggs.

"Of course," she chuckled, pushing it closer to me.

"You seem better this morning," Carter noted.

I nodded. "Yeah... I actually want to see him today."

Valerie smiled encouragingly. "That's great Ellana, do you want us to come with you or?"

I shook my head. "I'll be okay. I need to do this alone. Do you mind giving me a lift though?"

She nodded through mouthfuls of food. "Of course, let me know when."

I sent her a grateful smile before eating my breakfast.

I knocked on the familiar door of our home. It was a beautiful, large open-space one-story place Kean had purchased roughly two years ago. Since Valerie was moving out, Kean asked me to move in with him and I accepted wholeheartedly. We pretty much spent majority of our time together anyway. It was the next natural step in our relationship.

I smoothed my clammy hands down my leggings as I waited for him to answer. He should be home. Carter had texted him to check. The door opened and his tall figure emerged. He was in a pair of sweatpants and a t-shirt that clung to his toned frame. His brown hair was always like it was, thick, soft and curly. His warm brown eyes stared down at me and softened immediately.

"Hey Ell," he smiled gently.

"Hi Kean," I whispered.

"Come in," he ushered immediately, placing a hand on the small of my back, the touch sending warm sparks throughout me. "Are you hungry? Thirsty? Do you need anything?" He said.

My heart fluttered. He was always the sweetest and most attentive. "I'm okay, thankyou."

"Okay," he nodded, taking a seat on the couch. I followed suit and sat next to him, turning my body to face his.

He watched me carefully for a moment before speaking. "God Ell," he rubbed the back of his neck. "I'm so sorry you had to see that."

I nodded, my gut twisted as I remembered. "Yeah... I- well uh, I guess what happened?"

He nodded, before moving closer to me, and laid a hand on mine. "I promise you baby, I wasn't unfaithful. I never have been. And I never will be."

His words helped to soothe me as I nodded for him to continue.

"She stopped by unexpectedly. I answered the door thinking it was you. I was still in my pyjamas, since I was lazing around all day waiting for you. So, I told her I was just gonna go put a shirt on." He began.

I nodded. Kean, like most guys didn't sleep with a shirt. That was normal for him.

"I thought maybe she had stuff about the movie to tell me about. I walked in to get clothes and I noticed she was following me. I stopped and turned around in our bedroom and she was being really weird. I proceeded to grab a shirt and then she got undressed and started coming on to me. Saying things like how she felt something between us and how she knew I wanted her and she wanted me."
