Carter P.O.V.
In the moments where light begins to break through the darkness of the night, and my body begins to stir, I look down towards the sleeping figure beside me and time stands still. All I can see is her serene face, all I can feel is her warmth, and all I can breathe is her scent.
I reach out to touch her face, and involuntarily she twitches, moving her cheek closer to the palm of my hand. I smile at the response, gently stroking the length of her jaw and across her long locks.
"Good morning Valerie," I murmured softly. Her eyes slowly fluttered open, the dark lashes framing her beautiful gray eyes like curtains to the window of which is her soul.
"Hey you," she greeted me back with a warm grin, stretching her body before curling back up to my chest. "Is it raining?"
I listen harder to my surroundings and I begin to hear the soft pitter patter of raindrops outside. "Oh yeah, it is too."
"It's such nice sleepy weather," she mumbles, her lids drooping slowly to a close.
I chuckled, Valerie isn't really a morning person, but gets up when she has to. "Yeah it is, precious." I agreed with her, wrapping my arms around her waist. "It's a Saturday though, do you have much planned?"
She shook her head. "No, a day off for me today."
"Perfect," I said, a small smile creeping across my face. "Then let's stay in bed for a while."
"You don't want to do anything handsome?" She enquired, half-asleep as she traced patterns against my chest with the tip of her finger.
"Mm-m." I shook my head. "I've got nothing planned either. We could go to brunch later though?" I suggested, knowing that was one of her favorite things to do.
"Oooh, yes later." She decided with a small nod, looking content with her eyes closed.
"Okay," I kissed her on the forehead. These kinds of moments were what made everything worthwhile.
She leant forward, tucking herself into the crook of my neck. I rested my head on top of hers and my breathing instantly mellowed, my chest rising and falling steadily in absolute bliss. I only enjoyed this for a little longer before I felt a small tickle at the base of my neck. It spread up the length of my neck and to my ear as Valerie peppered kisses across my skin. Cheeky thing.
I rolled over, pinning her underneath me as I playfully nibbled her ear. "What are you trying to do hey?"
She giggled, the expression lighting up her entire face. "Sometimes I just can't resist you."
I physically felt my ego inflate at that statement and my lips lifted into a smirk. "Is that so? No longer sleepy?"
"Mmm, not really," she murmured with a dreamy smile as her eyes focused on my face. She ran her hand up and down my back gently, giving me back tickles. "My fiancé's just too damn hot."
I chuckled softly as I leaned in to kiss her on those soft, sweet lips. Our lips moved slowly, each touch creating the utmost tantalising sensation against one another. We were savouring each other and this moment to the best of our abilities, committing everything to memory. She practically hummed aloud as our lips danced together sensually.
We pulled apart for air and I leaned down my forehead to hers, just watching her in all her glory. Her hair fanned around her like a dark halo, and there was a warm, peachy glow to her cheeks. Her lips were poutier than normal and slightly pinkened by the friction of our kissing. The sight of them in that state stirred something in my lower body. I did that to her. Her eyes were hazy, full of desire, but also full of admiration and most certainly, love. For me. There was no better sight.
