Puffs of steam billowed from the bathroom as you exited, drying yourself off and wrapping a towel around your body, the aroma of your body wash lingering in the air. Just as you stepped foot in your bedroom, your cell phone started ringing. Snagging the device from its place on your nightstand, you flipped it over to see your boyfriend's contact photo taking up the entirety of the screen.

You accepted the call and held the phone up to your ear. "Hey there, handsome."
"Hey, sweetheart." Jin greeted. "What are you up to?"
"I just got out of the shower."
"A shower sounds nice. We just finished dance practice and I'm covered in sweat."
"I know you're working hard though."
"I'm trying." He answered breathlessly. "I called because I have a break in my schedule and there's a food festival in Seoul this weekend. I was hoping you'd go with me."
"A food festival? That sounds like a lot of fun."
"So you're in?"
"Yes!"
"Oh, good! I can't wait to see you. I feel like it's been ages since we last saw each other in person. I miss you so much."
"I know. I miss you too."
There was a delay on the other end and voices in the distance before Jin spoke. "Ah. I have to go, the boys need me. TXT are using the practice studio soon, so we've gotta head out."
"That's fine. I'll see you this weekend."
"See you this weekend. I love you."
"I love you too. Get some rest when you get home."
"I will. Thank you."
Ending the call, you set your phone down and finished drying off, changing into some fresh clothes. You later received a text from Jin with the festival information and what time he'd be picking you up.

After an anticipating wait, Saturday finally rolled around. You stood before the full-length mirror in your room, double-checking the outfit you'd planned for the day, grateful that it actually looked good.
Your phone buzzed from inside your back pocket, pulling your attention away from your reflection. Retrieving the device, you checked the notification.

Jin
I'm here :)

Just seeing the text had your heart leaping with excitement. You slipped your phone back into your pocket and grabbed your bag before heading out the door. Jin's sleek SUV was parked outside your home, waiting for you when you stepped onto the concrete landing outside the entrance of your home.

"Hey, beautiful." He greeted while stepping out of the car, walking right up to you to embrace you in a tight hug. "Ah. I missed you so much."
"I missed you too." You murmured into his shoulder, taking in the scent of his cologne.
He pulled away and took in your appearance, grinning adoringly. "You look cute."
"I tried."
"You don't have to try." He kissed your forehead. "Should we get going?"
"Yes. I'm starving."
"Good."
He kindly opened the door for you and made sure you were seated before he pushed it shut.

"Are you excited?" Jin asked as he drove down the street, his favorite songs playing through the car speakers.
"Are you kidding me? I've been looking forward to this since you told me."
"I'm glad you're ready for it."
"Have you ever been to this festival?"
"Yeah. I used to go all the time, but we got so busy I haven't been in a few years."
"Oh." You were a little disheartened to hear that his schedule got in the way of his annual trips to the festival.
"The good news is I'm getting to go again. And this time it's with you." He grinned, turning to give you a smile.

When you arrived at the festival, you were surrounded by the mouthwatering scents of different foods: stews, meat, pork, noodles, you name it.
"Wow. Everything smells amazing."
"I know." Jin groaned in agreement. "It's hard to pick what to eat first."
"Why don't we just walk around and sample some things first? Then we can decide."
"Sounds like a good idea." He took your hand and led you along the endless line of trucks and stands to peruse their menus.
"Ooh! What about that one?" You pointed to a stand selling an array of fried foods.
"Okay." Jin nodded, approaching the stand where you both tried a sample of their food.
"Mmm!" You and Jin hummed, looking at each other with the same wide-eyed expression.
You moved on to other stands and trucks, sampling different things together, glancing at menus, and enjoying everything the festival had to offer.
"Ah. Now this is the one I've been looking for." Jin pointed towards a nearby truck. "It's my favorite. They set up every year and I always stop by."
He guided you over to the parked vehicle, not sparing a single glance at the list of dishes displayed as he placed an order right away. The man running the traveling eatery started filling up a styrofoam takeout container with what looked like chicken skewers. It smelled amazing and you knew just by looking that it would taste good too, especially if it was something Jin liked and recommended.

Jin handed his credit card over to the man and paid for the meal. His card was returned and the man inside the food truck passed over the styrofoam container.
With bright eyes, Jin took a seat at a nearby picnic table, letting out an enthusiastic "Wahh!" when he opened up the lid.
"It's called dakkochi. It's spicy chicken skewers. Try it."
You gladly took a skewer from him and ate a chunk off the end, chewing it and allowing the flavors to set in.
"Mmm!" You hummed, nodding your head vigorously to show your enthusiasm.
"Here. Try it with the sauce." He urged. "It's even better."
You dipped a bit of the poultry into the sauce and took a large bite, your expression lighting up. "You're right."
"That food truck had the best spicy chicken I've ever had. Seriously. They're the best."
"I can see why. It's delicious."

After you finished your little snack, you continued your foodie adventures, stopping to buy small portions of various dishes that looked good. You both thought it best to buy things that weren't too filling so you could test out other foods.
Everything you tried was delicious, but what you liked the most about this particular outing was being able to spend time with your boyfriend. Listening to him talk about different foods, explaining what each of them were and what they were made with was interesting. Not only that, but Jin's love for food was endearing and it showed in his enthusiastic reactions.

Time flew by and eventually, you had made it to the end of all the food stands, turning around to make your way back. You fell into step with Jin, talking about the events of the day while heading in the direction of the car.

"Thank you for taking me out. It was so much fun and I got to try all sorts of food, which was all delicious by the way."
"You're welcome. I had a good time. I'm glad I finally got to come back here. It's been a while." He smiled softly.

Jin came to a stop when you arrived at his vehicle, turning towards you to gaze at your features. His long fingers delicately brushed your cheek, his face moving closer to yours. You brought your hand up to gently cup his face, silently coaxing him forward until his pouty lips pressed against yours. You hummed softly into the kiss, your thumb stroking the side of Jin's face lovingly as you melted into him.
His soft lips parted ways with yours, pulling into a content smile.
"Let's do this again next year."
"Definitely."
