Ziyan offered to smoke me out before my trip to meet Jaxon's parents. His friend Jamal, who was also there, joined us.
Ziyan took claim of the tire wheel closest to the tree, licking the sides of the Backwood cigar till it began to unravel in his hands. Gutting the tobacco flakes out, he tossed it into the wrapper he got the cigar from. I didn't know how to roll a Backwood, so whenever I saw someone use it, it was entertainment for me. Because of the amount of patience and saliva it took to prepare it, I found disinterested in using them myself.
Watching Ziyan close it with his tongue, witnessing how skillful he was with his tongue and lips, oddly turned me on. For a second, I thought he was being excessive with the swipes of licks on the wrapper. Like he was taunting me in a way.
Off Jamal's speaker, he played a song. While he worked on the blunt, Ziyan would pause to shake his shoulders to the beat of the song, swaying slightly. I cracked a smile at how care free was, far from the moody person he was for the last few weeks. All because of Brenda. He didn't want to say it, but I knew he wasn't over what happened yet. When Brenda came up in the conversation, I made my opinion known.
Ziyan withdrew a lighter from his pants. They were cut in middle and plain black pants were sown to the checkered pair of trousers so both halves were different. Ziyan rolled his eyes at me. "False, I am over what unfortunately occurred in that room."
"You sure about that?"
"Fucking positive. In the end, Brenda got what she wanted. She's out on a date with Scott." He lit the lighter, running the flame fast over the blunt's wrapper to dry off any excess moisture. "Hey, and aren't you going to meet Jaxon's parents? Everyone's fucking paired up. It's perfect."
"Bitter," Jamal sang.
"Far from it." Ziyan scoffed. "I don't care everyone's banging each other."
"I'm not sleeping with Jaxon. I haven't even kissed him."
"But he introduced you to his family."
"To his brothers," I corrected, "And it was mostly because they wanted to meet me. After the trip to the movies, they wanted to know who was the mystery girl sharing the basement with their brother. If I had a choice, I wouldn't have gone."
"It was that bad?"
"Bad is a little harsh," I said, extending my legs in front of me. I rolled my shoulders, releasing a slow sigh. I wasn't sure how I could say what I felt. "We went to his family's farm house."
