Chapter 10

~*Janvi's POV*~

Everything had happened so quickly. Waking up seemed like such an accomplishment when it happened, but now every little movement and thought appears to be more and more difficult. I just don't understand how I ended up in this wretched place. Who did this to me and why won't anyone tell me?

I sat in my rock bed for forever surrounded in my own thoughts. I can't believe I'm not able to speak! Every time I try to let a word out my throat scratches with such intensity that I just give up. My mouth forms the words, but my ears as well as everyone elses ears just can't hear my voice.

~*Liam's POV*~

Holding my breath I entered her room slowly. Niall and Zayn weren't in the room anymore and Janvi was sitting quietly in the bed. Her hands were folded over her lap and her eyes were locked on the end of her bed. Eyebrows pulled down in such intense thought she hadn't heard me come inside.

"Are you alright, babe?" I could hear my voice shake as it left my mouth.

Snapping her head up in surprise she nodded slowly. A small glint of pain striking across her face.

"I'm sorry about everything..." I trailed off and sat down next to her in the tiny recliner that was next to her bed.

Her eyes shifted towards a note pad that was laying on the bed side table next to her as if asking me to read it. Picking it up slowly, my eyes danced across the writing.

"Who did this to me?"

Sighing quietly to myself I dropped the paper in my lap.

Who did this to me?

How do I answer that? Part of the reason why she was here was my fault.

I really truly didn't mean to hit her with that bullet. Me being the klutz I am, I missed and shot her through the side instead of the evil man that had jumped on her and was strangling her.

I could feel the strong current of emotion begin to overflow me. My throat closing and a tear sliding down my cheek gracefully until it dripped from my cheek. I glanced over to where she sat. Her eyes resembling a little girl that had become lost in New York City on Christmas Eve. You could see the frightened thoughts stream through her eyes with such power and hope.

Before I was able to answer her truthfully, I could hear footsteps enter through the doorway. Looking up, I noticed just how red Louis's eyes had become. The bright blue in such strong contrast with the red that surrounded them that they looked as though they were glowing.

Just then did I realize just how much I had been selfish. I wasn't the only one that was suffering. Louis was too. It wasn't his fault as much as it was mine or any of the others for that matter. The only one to blame was her father.

His eyes met mine from across the room and a look of guilt past through the both of us. Standing and walking outside of the room I followed Louis right to the spot we had been arguing right before Jan first woke up.

"I'm sorry, Liam. I was so caught up in everything I guess I just ended up blaming the people that were closest to me." Louis voice cracked and his head dipped down suddenly.

"I'm sorry too. I know I was the one with the gun, but you have to believe me I really didn't mean to get her." Stepping forward I wrapped my arms carefully around my best mates shaking body. "I promise."

Looking up and stepping back a small smile was placed on his lips. "Mates?"

"Mates." I answered and chuckled a bit. "Do you have any idea where the rest of the boys ended up going?"

"I have no idea. Probably just needed air."

Nodding I followed him back into Janvi's room. A very very confused expression written all over her face as she tried to process what the hell just happened. It's not every day you see two guys crying and hugging in the door way after you just woke up from a four month long coma and have no idea why you're even there.

"Jan, I know this may sound selfish and very awful, but do you mind waiting for the rest of the guys before I answer that question for you?" There was no way I would be able to tell her about everything without everyone here.

A small smile settled onto her face and her hands twisted together nervously.

Louis sat down where I had been sitting just minutes before and picked up her hand from her lap.

"I'm sorry babe... It's been a long day for you." His voice shook, but seemed strong at the same time.

~*Harry's POV*~

The sun had finally given in and disappeared hours ago, quickly followed by the pinks and oranges that had covered the sky like a painting.

Running a hand through my curls, I let my eyes drift down towards the pavement and I sighed loudly. My feet were starting to ache because of all of the walking.

I just couldn't understand why Louis and Liam had to be like this. It had been four months! Four bloody months of fighting and shooting nasty remarks and glances towards each other whenever they even saw the other enter the room. Louis spent most of his time down at the hospital staring off into space or crying next to her as she slept. He never let Liam into the room with her. Locking him out as if he wasn't already guilty enough. It's been a total mess!

Everyone was talking about Janvi and us for a while right after the accident happened. The story breaking out for anyone to read just how broken Jan was and how broken us boys had become.

After two months or so though people seemed to loose interest and gravitated towards other boy bands that had taken the absence of us to their advantage. The tour was cancelled and management became very angry.

People are always saying that life is just like a roller coaster. There are going to be ups and downs and however you deal with the downs the ups may just get higher and higher each time. Hopefully this down will soon be over and everything will go back to how it was. Janvi will be able to smile and talk. Able to turn anyone's day into an automatically better one. The tour will be back on and we will be able to travel all over the world with Jan, able to share the bands inspirations with the world in the best way possible.

Suddenly, I felt my feet turn and pick up pace going in the direction I had just been walking away from. The only way to make the down go away was to fight against it and climb back up to the top of the roller coaster.
