Mark, Jack, and Nate were all transported to the hospital. Nate and Mark were both in critical condition in the emergency room while Jack was emitted to the maternity ward for an emergency check-up. Being pregnant he didn't want to risk the baby or himself even if his heart was longing to go see Mark. When they found nothing was wrong (in fact the baby was rather healthy) Jack was soon released.

As he made his way back to Mark's room he found tears instantly shedding down his face. His nose was plugged with tubes, IVs stuck into his arms, both his eyes were shut with most of his veins shot. His face was red with sweat dripped down his cheeks. Jack covered his mouth at the sight keeping himself from crying.

Jack was shaking as he walked up to Mark and sat next to him on a wimpy chair. His eyes wet as he grabbed a tissue from the night side table. The same guy Jack had once known was no longer there, Mark had been replaced with the man he saw now. Jack admitted to himself that he was scared to lose the man in front of him, the man he could proudly call his children's father.

It wasn't long before a nurse can walking in with a deep frown burrowed in her face. She was small and frail. He eyes a wondering green while her long wavy brown hair was pinned up in a bun.

"Um sir, a Dan Howell is here to see you," Jack asked her kindly to let him in and she gave a weak grin before disappearing back outside. Jack just looked onto Mark's face as he wiped his face, relieved of some of the tears from his eyes.

Dan rolled back the curtains with Sammy on his hip and a frown on his face. Jack barely noticed as he leaned over to place his hands on his face, his tears rolling out more frequently.

"Daddy?" Jack jerked his head to look over and noticed Sammy with tears streaming down her gorgeous face. Dan set her down on her feet so she could waddle over to her dad. Jack picked her up on and placed her on his lap. Sammy looked out over Mark's unconscious body and gave a sniffle. Jack looked down at his daughter then at his stomach before he heard a cough from Dan. He turned his head slightly to acknowledged him.

"Jack, can I talk to you?" Jack only slightly nodded his head as he stood from his seat. He placed Sammy on the bed with Mark as he stepped aside with Dan outside the door. Dan had his arms folded over his chest as we looked Jack up and down. Neither had the strength to speak but somehow they both knew what each other wanted to say.

"How long have you known?" Dan asks suddenly. Jack snapped his head so that his eyes met Dan's. Both males held a stubborn gaze and held it. Whether it was minutes or moment neither knew but they heard a yelp as something large hit the floor in the hospital room. Jack's eyes widened as he dashed inside to find Sammy on the floor looking up at Mark's bed in terror.

"Sammy-"

"He moved!" Sammy looked up at Jack with fear as she hopped to her feet. Jack looked over at Dan with pleading eyes to get her to leave. Dan sighed as he took movements to grab at the little girl into his arms and carry to the door.

"No! No! Daddy!" Sammy screeched but was none the less taken away as Dan attempted to calm her outside. Jack didn't bother listening as he sat in the seat he was previous.

Jack didn't know how long he sat there, but once he grew tired of just sitting there Jack got up and sat on the bed as he stroked Mark's cheek. He slowly laid down next to him. His hand stroked down to Mark's left peck and it stayed there.

"Listen to me you big doof," Jack whispered into Mark's ear as he smiled sadly, tears running down his face leaving clear evidence of its existence.

"You have to get up." He pleaded with what little voice he had.

"You have to get up." Jack's tears started to stream as he laid his arm around Mark's torso. His hands feeling no warmth underneath them.
