Chapter 1
Familiar
I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I saw how pale my lips is. The only color I have is my natural pinkish cheeks. I sighed heavily as the wind blows the curtains of my room. Bahagya iyong sumayaw. The wind immediately caress the softness of my face. I closed my eyes as I walked towards the bannisters. It was so beautiful. So mesmerizing. My heart soften everytime I look at them.
Red and pink roses, sunflowers and gumamelas were scattered beautifully on our garden. I still remember when I was still a kid, my mom used to put a flower on my ear. She also planted those because she knows how I love them. Flowers are my comfort zone. They can make me calm. I let out a sigh again. Life has taught me that no matter how beautiful it is, there will still time that you will encounter hardships. Challenges. Problems. But life also taught me that no matter how dark your life is, there is still a solution to lighten it. That there's a solution to every problems.
I was disturbed when our front gate opened. An unfamiliar SUV parked beside our cars. My forehead creased when a man in mid thirties and a beautiful woman in her late thirties went out of the SUV.
"Who are they?" I asked silently.
I squinted my eyes and tried to recognize who they are when another person went outside. It was a boy, probably same as my age or a year or two years older than me. He's wearing a black jacket and a white Tshirt. He got an aura of a badboy. Very different from me. Nakita kong nakatingin siya sa kaniyang cellphone. I pouted at pumangulumbaba sa bannister. I looked at him for a moment. And then I realize that he's cute. My face heated and I was about to walk away when he look up to where I am standing. My eyes widen a bit and I immediately ran inside my room. I can feel my cheeks burning . I cupped it and try to calm myself. That was embarrasing! He'll probably think that I'm staring at him. That's for sure!
I stayed that way for a few minutes when the door of my room opened. I turned to see who it was. When I saw it was my mom, I sighed. She smiled softly and came to where I'm sitting.
"Are you okay?" she ask with her usual worried tone.
I nodded and smiled despite of my fast heartbeat and burning cheeks. She sighed and nodded her head.
"Are you sure?" she said softly.
"Yes, my..." I smiled warmly.
She nodded again and stood up. She held my hand gently. My forehead creased.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"Your Tito Gabriel and Tita Yasmin is here. And also their son." mommy answered.
A memory flashed through my mind when she mention the word son. Is it the guy in our garden awhile ago? I swallowed. I can feel my heart skipped a bit.
I was about to protest but mommy held my hands towards the door and didn't give me a chance to talk. But she will probably ask me why! Well, I'll just tell her that I'm not feeling well. Yeah, that's right!
"Uh, m-mom..." I called her.
She looked at me and smiled. "Don't worry. Don't be nervous. It's just your tito and tita. You still remember them?" she continued.
I shook my head. "N-no, mom."
"Oh! Well, you still a kid that time so you probably didn't remeber them anymore. But you remember Eros? Their son. He's your childhood friend."
