When we get off the train, there are a ton of Capitol citizens, not just looking at Annie and Talon, but some are screaming my name, too. I haven't been to the Capitol to let women.... take advantage of me, for almost a year. President Snow just sorta, left me alone.
So maybe that's why I did it. To show the Capitol women that I'm not theirs. I'm not completley sure why, but I reached over, grabbed Annie's hand, and, in front of everyone, pulled her into a deep kiss.
At first, she was tense with shock. But then, she started to kiss me back. The audience was completely silent. You could've heard a pin drop.
Eventually, I pulled away, and we kept walking, like nothing happend. She shot me a confused look, and I mouthed the words, "Tell you later." She nodded, and we entered the huge building that I've been in several times before.
Annabelle and I lead our tributes to their prep team, say good-bye, and head upstairs, to the 4th floor.
"I will never get tired of this!" exclaims Annabelle, stepping out of the elevator, and into the luxurious living room. I plop down on the couch, suprised that Annabelle hasn't mentioned the kiss outside. She sits down in a chair to the left of me.
"So. What the hell was that about?!" Oops. I jinxed it. That was the first time Annabelle ever used any foul language.
"I just, wanted to show the Capitol that I'm not their toy!" I say, hoping I chose the right words.
"I understand that, Finnick, but I'm not so sure it's a good idea-" she starts, but is interrupted by the elevator ding. I jerk my head to the side, curious to see who is visiting us already. The elevtator doors open, and there stands the one person I hoped never to see again.
There stands President Snow.
