Epilogue

I spent the next few weeks adjusting to "vampire life". Nathan taught me how to hunt the animals of the woods. I surprised them all by being unusually resistant to the temptation of human blood, especially being a new vampire and all. This allowed me to still visit Kelsey and my dad. Neither of them had any idea that I had changed, let alone become an immortal.

It was amazing, once Darius had been defeated, the spell on Logan was broken. I no longer saw Scott's face anymore, it was truly my brother. We had to tell my dad that Scott moved away out of state to be close to his ailing parents. While my dad was sad by Scott's departure, the look on his face when Logan showed up at his apartment door was priceless.

Nathan decided to demolish the rest of his house and build again. The house was the exact same to what it was before from the large glass windows to the stone fireplace. It only took a few days and we stayed with Logan until it was complete.

We checked in on Karen and Jess making sure they were okay. Thankfully Darius never knew where they had been living so they were left unscathed. Karen was visibly upset about everything that had happened but was relieved that it was over. Both her and Jess hugged me tight and welcomed me to the family.

The Wanted continued to write and record their songs. Soon they were going to go on tour and I was ecstatic to go with them.

It was spring once again and Nathan and I walked to the gazebo at the lake's edge. The birds were singing, and the sun was high in the blue sky. We sat in silence enjoying each other's company looking out at the rolling waves of the lake.

Nathan turned to me, "Crystal I don't know where I would be today without you in my life. I have never been more happier and am so thankful I have you as my love, my partner, my friend."

He got down on one knee and reached to pull out a white box from his jean pocket.

"Would you please do me the honor of being my wife forever?" He opened the box revealing a beautiful diamond engagement ring.

My eyes welled up with tears.

"It's beautiful," I whispered.

"Well?" he asked.

I looked at his face which had a trace of concern on his face.

I threw up my arms and smiled, "Yes, yes of course!"

He face beamed and he lifted me up and twirled me around in a long embrace.

"Gold Forever," I said as he finally set me back down.

"Forever," he said as he leaned in to kiss me.
