She stood before the mirror looking at her reflection.She had decided
to wear a saree after a lot of persuasions from her best friend ,though she is reluctant about it even now.

All kinds of thoughts were crossing her mind now.She had no possible idea regarding why Manasi was so adamant in seeing her in a saree .

Uff ,I hate wearing this saree she exclaimed to herself, holding the drape of her saree with her right hand.

Saree had always been her enemy from her college times.Whenever there was a function she had to wear a saree ,she would refrain from it unless and until Neil pestered her ,because according to him she looked gorgeous in a saree.

A mere thought of him filled her eyes with tears.

No more tears she told herself and wiped the little drops which were about to fall from her eyes .

Finally making her mind to wear the saree no matter what ,she pinned the drape on her shoulders and secured it with a pin.

After combing her long hair and parting it sideways she did enough makeup to compliment her style and wore the ornaments that her mother had specially packed to wear for the occasion.

One final touchup and she was ready for her friend's mehendi.

Before she could leave ,her phone ringed .

It was a message from Manasi

Avu come fast ,everyone has come .

Avni replied: I'm coming right now.

Avni quickly grabbed her handbag and went to the main hall where the function was to take place .

The whole hall was decked up in colourful lights .The whole area was surrounded by close friends and relatives .Avni could see some passionate lovers wandering through the hall ,holding each others hands and a few friends who were trying to play a prank on them
This immediately reminded her of all those nostalgic moments during her college life.

Before she could immerse herself in the surreal moment,someone grabbed her right hand .

She was about to scream and that is when she saw who the person was.

Alii,what a surprise, kaha thi tu , Avni squealed in excitement.

Just landed from US two days back ,waise how are you , he replied

I'm good , she said without any particular expression.

But I don't feel so ,my dear .

Nahi Ali,its just that I'm tired after the journey ,she said so as to convince him .

Ali had always been the prankster , yet the most caring person in their gang.He shared a special bond with Avni.More than a friend,she was a sister for him.

So it was obvious if he asked such questions to her.

Avuu ,ek baat bata ,when are we going to celebrate like this after Manu's wedding Ali enquired and Avni understood where the question was heading to .

Ali didn't know about her and Neil's breakup so it was obvious that he would ask this .
