Hiccup

When I got home from ice skating, I stepped into the house, whistling.

"Hello son!" my dad beamed from the kitchen table.

"Hi dad!" I called, bounding up the steps. I didn't want to get caught up in some dreary conversation about how I was going to inherit the family company, not today. Not when I was in such a good mood.

I flopped onto my bed, and pushed a Green Day CD into my laptop. Sitting cross legged, I opened it up to start my history assignment. As I was typing, I heard my phone ping - I had a message. It read:

Merida: Hey! So when do you want to do this couples counseling thing?

I quickly replied:

Hiccup: Tomorrow after school? We can make it a Wednesday evening thing.

Merida: Sure! So who is this girl anyway?

Hiccup: You'll find out when you've finished helping me.

Merida: UGH! Fine... So what are you doing?

Hiccup: History assignment on American presidents.

Merida: You have such an incredible social life Hic, I'll leave you to it ;)

I couldn't help but to laugh at the last message. Merida has a great sense of humour, and even though it's a sarcastic one, I don't mind.

Probably because I've had a crush on her since first grade.

She's the girl who I have a crush on. I've always wanted to tell her, but I wanted to be sure that she liked me back. That was when I had the idea of getting her to tell me without even realising it.

I grin as I realise that instead of typing America I've typed Merida.

Merida

Hiccup doesn't reply to my last message, so I start texting Punzie, Anna and Elsa in a group chat instead.

Merida: Hi guys! Great day today!

Punzie: Yeah it was epic! Thanks for the skates Elsa :)

Elsa: You're welcome :)

Anna: Hey! Did you guys hear?

Punzie: Hear what?

Anna: There's a new girl at your school!

Elsa: Wait, how do you know?

Anna: Because her three younger sisters are starting at my school!

Elsa: Ohhhh okay :) wait why didn't she start at the beginning of the semester?

Anna: No clue.

Punzie: I hope she's nice...

Merida: Don't worry Punzie, if she's mean to you I'll kick her butt!

Anna: Apparently she's super pretty...

Elsa: Well there's not much point wondering is there? We'll know what she's like soon enough.

Merida: True. Night guys!

I went to bed after that, wondering who the girl was that Hiccup was talking about...

A. N.
Hi guys! I'm so so so so so so so so sorry that I haven't updated in months. Most of the time it was because I had school and extra curricular stuff and tonnes of hw etc etc but a lot of the time it was because I genuinely couldn't think of anything good to write. Eventually I just decided to write this so I'm not just abandoning you (though I haven't been a good author these past few months, again I'm super sorry!)
So I hope you guys liked this chapter. I know it was terrible but I couldn't think of anything better.
Please continuing to read this book! I promise I'll try harder to update!
