I swam as fast as my golden tail would take me. I had to get Palette and Ink to Nightmare. Dark mer and light mer are good at hiding people and Nightmare is my twin although I'm a light mer. Our magic is stronger together. Light mer are fast as lighting and Dark mer well if they hit you, you're not getting back up for a while. We saw the net to late and I blacked out.
"Hey, wake up, Dreamy, wake up," Someone said gently. "Dreamy wake up. It's me Cross."
"W-who are you?" I immediately asked. "Where's my son? My lover? My brother?" I was in a tank. "Let me out!"
"Palette and Ink are fine. Starcross and Lux are playing with Palette. Do you remember me or our daughter and son?" He asked calmly. "Do you remember the Pirate captain that you took as your husband?"
"No," I said. "I never took a husband other than Ink! I can't remember you because I never met you!"
"LUX!!! CAN YOU GET THE SCRAPBOOK!!!" He shouted.
"ON IT CAPTAIN DAD!!!" Someone shouted back. "PAL'S STARTING TO REMEMBER US!!!"
"THANKS SWEETIE!!!" A few minutes pass and a skeleton dressed like a pirate with purple flames for hair tosses a large book at Cross and he catches it with one hand.
"Don't let Mom go without Star getting to meet her," 'Lux' demanded.
"Wouldn't DREAM of it," Cross joked.
"You didn't just."
"It just CROSSed my mind," Lux then marched over and punched him in the face. "STARs sweetie, you can't take a pun?"
"On deck and in the water, get your sword, DUEL IN TWENTY MINUTES!!!" She told him sternly. "Me and my arrows are going to make a fool of you IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE CREW AND OUR SPECIAL GUESTS!!!" She then marched off.
"Shit, Captain status is at stake and she yelled so the whole crew can hear the important pieces," Cross hissed. "She's going down."
"How many times has she done this?" I asked
"This is her first time but Starcross has challenged me several times and she's watched every time, but she seems to forget that I helped raise her up from the little ball of lilac flame she once was and that you were the one who taught her how to shoot straight." He showed me images of some of these events in the 'scrapbook'. "Starcross was a more burnt purple and a dark orange, you made his star crown he refuses to take it off even when he sleeps."
"Yo! Pops! Messenger hawks! Captain Reaper has a lock on Geno! Captain Error wants to know if you've spotted Ink!" A male skeleton with one red star with a golden pupil and a gold pin prick with a red pupil shouted. "I-is that mom?"
"Yep. Dream meet your son, Starcross, often called Star."
"I don't know him," I said.
"Son show her your tail," And 'Starcross' leaped into the tank, his legs becoming a tail. It was a burnt orange color with burnt purple fins he swam directly for me and wrapped his arms around me pulling me into a hug.
"Please try to remember, Mom," He whispered. "Remember the two semi mer you brought into this world. Remember the Pirate you were proud to call your husband." Memories rushed my brain. My marriage to Cross, Lux's birth, Star's birth, the failed memory wipe spell.
"S-Star?" I asked shakily. "How much of your life did I miss?"
"Most of what I've had thus far, the same goes for Lux. Dad's been distant so I'm always challenging him to duels so he'll pay attention to the only son he's got and Lux has been crying herself to sleep."
"I didn't realize I was so distant with my own kids, I'm so sorry Star, I should've been there." My husband apologized.
"FIVE MINUTES DAD!!!" Lux shouted.
"YOUR MOTHER REMEMBERS YOU AND YOUR BROTHER!!!"
"YOU'RE NOT DISTRACTING ME!!!"
"LUX I'M SORRY I DIDN'T REMEMBER YOU FOR SO LONG, JUST DON'T FIGHT YOUR FATHER!!!" I then heard something splash in the water and the hull open then Lux swam to the surface of the water in the tank. She now had a white tail with lilac fins.
"Hi Mom." She said. "Still gonna fight dad because I promised the crew a fight."
"I know how blood thirsty they can get, nothin' like a good duel." Star admitted.
"Lux! Star!" Palette shouted his green and yellow tail flicking behind him. "Gradient and PJ's here! They came ahead of Captain Error's ship."
"Error's here for Ink. She's been missing her husband as much as I missed you." Crossy told me. "And Goth has been missing you Palette."
"Gothy!" My first born's sockets widened.
"Pals, bro, Goth's fine." Starcross told him. "We're tracking down Captain Reaper's ship after we dock and pick up supplies."
"LESS THAN A MINUTE!!!" The crew yelled.
"Get your sword Dad." Lux said. "And if you think I'm not using the water to my advantage. You're wrong."
"Get your bow and your arrows. If you come to land you're going down."
"45 SECONDS!!!" The crew cheered. 40 seconds later they were taking their positions, Lux in a small pool that connected to the sea and Cross on the deck of the ship.
"FIVE!!! FOUR!!! THREE!!! TWO!!! ONE!!!" The crew shouted. "FIGHT!!!" Cream launched into the air and shot her bow at her father, he dodged quickly despite the sword sized kitchen knife he was carrying and only one impaled him in the arm.
"Sunlight shot!" Lux shouted and her arrow lit up like the sun and shot but her father deflected it despite the arrow in his arm.
"X strike!" Cross yelled in return and his movements were to fast to see but Cream lay on the deck with Cross pointing his knife at her neck bones. He then made his knife blink out of existence and helped her up.
"Lux you did amazing! You actually landed a hit on him!" Star shouted. "Better than what I've ever done!"
"Thanks Star."
"You did well my daughter." Crossy told her.
"L-U-X!!! Way to go Lux!" The crew screamed. I'm so happy to be with my family and crew again, but we have to to get everyone to remember, this is just the beginning of a great adventure.
