He let out a slightly forced laugh and said "It's me..."
I stared at him blankly.
"...Jin..."
I widened my eyes.
"...your boyfriend of 3 years?"
I shook my head slightly but never took my eyes off of him. I saw tears begin to form in the little corners of his eyes as he leaned his head down onto my lap.
"I-I'm so sorry." I said, gently stroking his hand with my thumb.
Jin lifted his head up, away from me and replied. "It's not your fault. None of this is."
He, then, stood up and walked out the door. Immediately, I felt sadness on the inside. But why? I don't even know that boy. Why do I feel broken?
I talked to my parents for a little bit. They were just asking if I was ok and if anything hurt. Then they walked out to talk to Jin. I watched them leave.
But. Then I saw him. He was a decent young fellow. He was short but strongly built. He even had a friendly gummy smile.
"What's your name?" I asked him, reaching my hand out to him.
He grabbed hold of my hand, smiled even bigger, and answered. "Min Yoongi. But you can call me Suga."
"Suga?" I swooned.
"Yes." he replied with a small chuckle.
I gained a little bit of courage. "Do you mind sitting here with me and just talk? I'm a great listener."
He nodded and sat down in the chair next to my hospital bed. "Sure thing. What would you like to talk about?" he asked.
I simply shrugged my shoulders. "Anything. Everything!"
He snickered once more at me before turning solemn again. He thought for a moment and then cleared his throat. He began:
"Once, there was a boy. His name was John. And there was a girl named Laura. They met their senior year of college. Immediately, they fell in love. Flash forward to after 3 years of love and warmth, and John proposed to Laura. But Laura never gave him a straight answer. And now she probably never will. Because John still loves her. But Laura loves someone else.
And it's quite obvious."
I looked at him puzzled, but he already knew it.
I was in love with Suga.
