First period was Biology. Second was Math, third was Physics, fourth was lunch, fifth was History, sixth was Economy, and seventh was gym. Every teacher seemed to love me, which coming from me, was very expectable. Each one of them seemed decently enjoyable, and hence I was pleased with my classes.

The day went on normally, even though I had to deal with blondie's annoying friend, it was pretty alright. I headed back up to my dorm and was instantly greeted by Earl. He wasn't so bad, just really ugly. I locked myself in my room, sat on a chair, and laid my head on my desk. Slowly, I started reminiscing about everything. As thoughts came and left my mind, I began to fall asleep, and just as I was about to close my eyes, Katpisse started knocking on my door.

- "Hey, loser. There's going to be a party later tonight at Axel's place, you coming?"

I opened the door and welcomed her into my room. As she sat on my bed, I looked up at her and asked "Who's Axel?"

To be brutally honest, it would've been better if she wouldn't have told me. Before I could even sit down next to her, she bolted out of my room, and came back ten seconds later with a year book.

- "You really don't know who Axel is? He's like the most popular guy in Deerfield!" She pointed to a red-haired guy on the yearbook.

- "How would I know? I just moved here..."

- "Oh yeah, well, he's my soon-to-be boyfriend! And he's hosting a party tonight. And everyone is going. That includes you."

- "Oh lord, alright. What time and where?"

- "Just be ready by eight. You can leave with me. And also, this doesn't mean I like you, just doing you a welcoming favor."

- "Okay." I laughed a bit, and then locked my door again as she walked out.

I began to get ready, it was already seven. I figured that if it was my first day in Deerfield, I had to give a big impression. I took out a short, gold, sparkly dress out of my suitcase along with some gold high heels and jewelry. I put the dress on, and if I may say so, I looked gorgeous. I slipped the heels on, locked two bracelets on my wrists, secured my mesmerizing chain, and smiled at my view in the mirror. I headed into the bathroom and placed my makeup bag on the counter. I took out a dark red lipstick, mascara, eyeliner, foundation, and powder. I applied everything on carefully, and then dug into my suitcase again to find my curling iron. I curled my hair and placed a gold angel clip on it. I looked into the mirror one more time, blew a kiss at myself, and sat in the living room. It was eight and Kat still wasn't done, so I waited a while longer. After thirty minutes had passed, I knocked on her door, and she didn't answer.

After knocking five times, I opened her door and almost fainted when I saw Kat. She was sleeping on her bed, makeup, hair, and clothes done. I tapped her shoulder and she instantly shot up.

- "Oh shoot! What time is it?"

- "Eight and a half."

- "Oh no, sorry about that. We should go."

- "Yeah, we should."

We headed outside and Kat found her car in the parking lot. I started to wonder if everything that she owned was as weird as she was. She had a bright pink car, with bright pink lights, and bright pink devil horn stickers all over it. I didn't say a word, just sat in the passengers seat and waited for her to start the car. After she drove out of the school parking lot, lights flashed in my face. The landscape looked just like Las Vegas, just a couple hundred miles away. Everything was lit up with bright neon lights. Mountains could be outlined in the back of the city, filled with darkness. The sky looked like it was rather five rather than eight. It was a beautiful sight.

After a good ten minutes of driving, we finally pulled up to a huge Victorian Mansion, which I figured was the venue for the party. Katpisse parked, got out and started walking towards the door. She opened it as I followed behind, and when I stepped inside, no one was there. Katpisse continued walking. I followed closely after her, inspecting every inch of the huge mansion as we walked by. Light brown wooden floors that shined against the neon lights reflecting from the windows even though inside the house everything was dark. Huge ceilings that were three times the size of a grizzly bear. Oddly realistic paintings that filled every inch of the hallways. Massive flower pots that were in every corner of the home. And weirdest of it all, every single furniture item was either leather or wood. After an interesting two minutes of walking, Katpisse opened another door, and as we stepped inside, I failed to recognize the stairs that led down, and therefore almost broke my behind. Katpisse laughed at me.

- "Be careful, Nazari."

I looked up at her confused as I patted my back. No one had ever called me by my last name before, but she couldn't see my expression. It was too dark. As we continued going down stairs, a faint sound started to be heard. The party was in the basement. When the stairs had finally concluded, the music was as loud as a boy band concert. Girls were screaming everywhere, lights were dancing, guys were drinking out of red plastic cups. This is what everyone imagined when they heard the words "college party." The only difference was that it was high school.

As soon as we stepped foot on the floor, Katpisse ran and threw herself into the arms of someone. When he turned around, we instantly made eye contact. He hugged Kat while staring at me the entire time, and I just stood there, mesmerized. He looked like every Hollywood film boy I had ever seen in Egypt. He looked outstanding, separated from everyone else. He stopped hugging Kat, and stepped in front of me.

- "Axel. You're new here, right?"

- "Uh, Yeah. I'm Nubia, nice to meet you."

- "You a senior?"

- "No, I'm a junior."

- "Oh, ight', well, see ya around, hope you liking Deerfield."

- "Okay, I'll see you."

My flushed face was heating as strong as it had ever, and as I tried snapping out of what had just happened, Noëlle tapped my shoulder.

- "Oh hey, girlfriend! Didn't know you were into parties, you seem like one of the most boring people I've ever met!"

- "Gee, thanks."

- "You look gorgeous, by the way! I can't believe you came so dressed up for a party like this!"

Yeah, I couldn't believe it either, and apparently, neither could someone else. It appeared to me that someone else had the same idea that I had. Someone else also came dressed up way too formally, and when someone else turned around, she gave me a death glare.
