Later today, Bethany had invited me to go to some random rich kid's party. I frankly didn't have anything else to do, so I agreed to it. I didn't expect to be have a beer thrown on, specially at age seventeen, nor did I expect to be okay with it. This party was wild. Students from all grades were drinking, smoking, dancing, romancing, everyone was having fun in their own little world.

I swore to the almighty Jesus that I would not touch alcohol, but then one thing led to another and I ended up doing so. Bethany, who was still sixteen, was drinking as if she was an expert alcoholic. She flirted around with a couple of dudes, then came back to me to dance a couple of songs, then left again. Nutrition reader, Noëlle, had also come with us, so I ended up hanging out with her almost the entire time. Honestly I was enjoying myself. A couple of wealthy sophomore girls were trying to promote their sewing club by flashing beautiful dresses in front of us, and after five minutes of being explained what went into the making of a white, skin-tight, knee length, dress, they convinced me to put it on.

I had never been the type to wear such provocative clothes, but that night was different. I was bored, and so I figured that it wouldn't be so bad to try a couple of things on. When I came out of the nearest bathroom, the sophomores and Noëlle were all gasping.

- "Dayumn, girl, that looks amazing!" said one of the sophomores.

- "Oh wow, that really suits you." said Noëlle.

They all gathered around me and as I was giving my many thanks back, a lean, tall dude made his way towards me. He started talking to me but I was dozed off the entire time. Noëlle, who was still next to me, kept rolling her eyes at everything the guy said. I guess he must've said something awfully annoying, because the second I turned my head Noëlle had started arguing with him.

- "Leave her alone, idiot. She's clearly not interested!"

- "Let her speak for herself, Elle. You don't know if the shawty likes me."

- "What now? Who gave you the right to call her that?"

I just started laughing internally. Noëlle was no taller than five feet and a half, and yet she had this six foot guy getting destroyed. I could tell she was prideful of her actions. I was so concerned about how the argument was going to go that when I turned to Noëlle she was gone and I was standing alone. The giant was still in front of me, and kept trying to make conversation. I guess he noticed that I was ignoring him, because when he grabbed my arm roughly, he stared at me with firing eyes.

- "Are you even listening to what I'm telling you?"

- "Huh? Oh, no I wasn't. Would you excuse me? I have to go to the bathroom."

As I turned to leave he pulled tighter on my arm and began screaming at me.

- "Shut up you worthless rat! Speak to me when I tell you to! Who do you think you are?"

I screamed for him to let go of me but he just grasped my arm tighter. He continued yelling at me and all I was thinking about was escape. I was only five-foot-three. I couldn't fight this guy off, even if I tried to. I kept trying to break free, but it was no use. He slapped me and began dragging me to the other side of the room.

It was a weak move, but all I could do was cry. So many people around us and yet none of them could be bothered enough to tell this guy to stop. He kept dragging me until we reached a far off wall, and he slapped me again.

- "This is what you get for thinking that you rule this place. You just got here, idiot. Don't get on the bad side of us."

He forced a kiss on me and as hard as I could I bit his lip. I could taste the blood beginning to form and instantly he backed off.

- "Are you crazy? You're so done for!"

I began crying harder and just as I expected him to slap me again, I heard a thud on the floor. When I looked up, I saw a black haired goddess, with a gold, short dress, and gold high heels standing in front of me with a shattered beer bottle on her hand. I looked down and saw my attacker bleeding on the floor, blood rushing out of his head.

- "Nubia Nazari."

- "Huh?" I wiped off the tears that kept escaping my eyes and managed to contain myself.

- "Oh god, it's you."

I couldn't recognize her too well, but I managed to recognize her death glare. It was the skipper, the staring freak, and the now hero of my life. I went to give her a handshake, but before I could do anything, a black figure stood up next to me.

- "You bunch of moronic girls. You can't get rid of me that easily!" said the bleeding guy.

- "Run!"

Nubia pulled my arm and before I could even tell my feet to run, she made me run along with her. This girl was crazy fast! It was so hard to keep along with her that even she had to slow her pace down. We kept running behind tables, chairs, people, and all I could think about was what just had happened. I looked back and the guy who was bleeding out of his head was still chasing after us. A group of students stood in our way and Nubia broke free of me. She jumped on the table right next to them and jumped over their heads as they shared astonished looks. As they were all distracted I pushed through them and ran straight by. I managed to catch up with Nubia and by the time that we were almost by the stairs, Noëlle joined the chase with us.

- "What happened? I went to go get a drink for Zennor and when I came back she was gone!"

- "No time for explaining now!" cried Nubia. "Just keep running!"

We continued running and we ran past Bethany, who was still flirting with some random guy. I looked behind me, and as we made eye contact, I signaled her to come. She instantly kissed the guy goodbye and joined in running with us. We finally reached the stairs and ran up. The guy had grabbed Bethany's foot and instantly she fell down the stairs. Nubia leaped over us, kicked the guy in the face, and pulled Bethany up. We finally got out of the staircase and opened quickly the exit door. We ran past the creepy hall with the paintings and the old, Victorian Mansion, was now filled with the sound of feet hitting the floor. Some kids that were just coming in were by the entrance and instantly Noëlle screamed.

- "Move out the way!"

They moved to the side quickly and we ran right past them. Bethany hurriedly searched for her car keys in her pocket and pulled them out. On the other side of the parking lot, lights enlightened the dark night and a "beep beep" was heard.

We began running towards that direction and as soon as we reached the car, Bethany hopped in the drivers seat, I threw myself in the passengers, and Noëlle and Nubia sat in the back. Bethany locked all the doors and just as the lock was turned on, the creepy guy was knocking on my side of the car.

- "You stupid girl! It was all a joke! Why did you have to take it this far? You're so dead when I catch you!"

Bethany pulled out backwards and then went forwards with such force that it sent the guy flying off the car. She quickly pushed the gas pedal and as we left the parking lot, a smoke trail was following behind us, reminding me of what I had discovered that night.

The enjoyment of mischief.
