Chapter 6~Valerie~
“This is why I hate snow!”I take a deep breath in. All I had to do was pray to god that Duncan didn’t bring his death trap to school today. Who was I kidding, he always brings his damn death trap! I saunter my way down the endless flights of stairs, to be met with a striking pair of green-blue eyes. Of course, he had to make complete eye contact with me, I was kinda hoping that I wouldn’t have to look at him. Because when guys look at me my cheeks turn beet red.
“Kitten, you ready to go?” He questions, his mood changing dramatically.
I take a look around the area to see Daniel, Hayes, Apollo, and some other guy that I forgot the name to. I’m usually pretty good with names, but I couldn’t remember his. His hair was bleach blonde, but his skin was tanner with powerful brown eyes.
“They’re coming with?” I question, my eyebrow cocked up in surprise.
“Yeah, they all need a ride home besides Hermes,” Duncan says, continuing.
“Hermes is coming over to hang out.” He says, leading everyone out the door.
The cold air hits me like frost to windows. “Will you still save time for the project?” I question, walking toward the parking lot.
“I don’t know if I can today, Kitten,” Duncan says, walking beside me. Only to leave his friends behind him.
“At least get a paragraph done by tomorrow,” I say as we approach his car. The wind biting at my dry skin. The snow on the ground wetting my shoes cloth rims.
We pack into the car, the boys rushing to get the shotgun seat. I didn’t mind sitting in the back, I have headphones after all. Duncan fended off the boys as they scurried into the seat trying to sit all at the same time. It was like a competitive game of musical chairs.
“Hey!” Duncan yells, pushing them out of the front seat. Grabbing my full attention, his now blue eyes were gazing at me.
“Yeah?” I say, confused when I take out my earbuds. Duncan gives me an exhausted laugh, looking at me and then the shotgun seat.
I get out the side door and walk to the shotgun seat. Taking a seat, the boys glaring at me. If given the chance I would’ve laughed, but they look really angry. Duncan starts the engine, letting out a loud roar.
“So…” Hermes says, trying to start out a conversation. His blonde locks falling in front of his eyes, red blazing up underneath his freckles.
“Yeah?” I ask, looking back at the boys.
Daniel thinks before raising a finger as if he had an idea, “Wanna play truth or truth?” He asks, his eyebrow perched like a mad scientist might do.
“Fine, but everyone has to play too!” I exclaim. I had been the person stuck being questioned a million times before, and did not want to be again.
“Who starts?” Apollo questions, excited more than ever.
“Driver chooses first,” Hermes says and Apollo and Daniel fist bump. Hayes continued reading his book quietly in the back.
“Valerie, have you ever been in a serious relationship?” Duncan asks, glancing at me then back to the road.
“No, never even dated anyone before,” I admit, my cheeks warmed by my embarrassment. I guess I just assume everyone has been a relationship before, especially in high school.
“Apollo, what do you see in Wreath?” I ask, purely for telling Laurel how Apollo truly feels towards her.
Apollo rubs the back of his neck, “She’s cool you know, and she just has this passion for the truth and for art… I guess, but she’s like really pretty and doesn’t see what I see… or whatever.” Apollo admits, looking out the car window at the passing houses.
