Chapter One

(Gabrielle's POV)

"Honestly, I don't want to be here anymore..." I sobbed into my phone, the tears leaving mascara marks on my face. "Don't say that..." My best friend Krissy pleaded. "They're so mean..." I cried more. "I know baby, I know. But guess what? In thirty years they won't matter." Krissy said. I sighed, and sniffled. I hate my life. "Gab, listen..." Krissy began. Great, here comes the speech. "You are BEAUTIFUL, okay. I would kill to have that gorgeous long brown hair of yours, your great body, and your amazing personality. You're amazing all around. Remember what Vinny says?" I sighed, and sniffled. "To me beauty isn't how you look. It's the size of your heart." "And that's how I know you're the most god damn beautiful person I know." Krissy said. I stifled a laugh, and I could hear Krissy smile, if that makes sense. "That's better. I'm coming over, okay? I have news." Krissy said. I sighed, and sniffled. "Okay. See you soon..." "Love you." Krissy said. "Love you too. Bye." I hung up, and ran to my bathroom. I washed my face, erasing any trace of tears that existed. I reapplied my makeup, and changed into jean shorts and a University of New Jersey sweatshirt. My hair went up into it's usual messy bun, and I grabbed my phone just as the doorbell began to ring. I ran downstairs, and opened the door, immediately englufed into all my friend's arms. This is why I love them. All of them. Krissy, Dianna, Erin, Melinda, Micaela, and Rachel moved over to the living room with me, and began their usual cheering me up. I sighed, and shook my head. "It's no use, I'm so sick of it... I'm sick of them making fun of me for being in love with him. For being ugly. For being short and insecure." The tears started clouding my eyes again, but I swiped them away with my sleeve. Krissy rubbed my back, and sighed. "We have news for you." I looked up at all of them, and they had smiles replacing their usual concerned looks. I scrunched my eyebrows together in curiousity, and bit my lip. "What is it?" "We know how much you love Vinny..." Dianna started. "And we know how much meeting him means to you..." Erin added. "And we know lately everything has been really hard, with your Grandparents passing away, and all the bullying..." Melinda said. "So, we have a surprise!" Micaela smiled. "A HUGE surprise!" Rachel smiled. I looked at all of them, and my eyes landed on Krissy. "What is it?" I asked again, beginning to become impatient. "Welll...." Krissy smirked, and pulled something out of her hoodie's pocket. I couldn't see what they were until she set them in my lap. My hands shook as I looked at the items she just placed in my lap. Tickets. To Vinny's class this weekend at the Hilton hotel downtown. Oh. My. God. I didn't know how I was feeling, I had so many things going through my mind. I started crying, hard, but from happiness. "You guys...." The words escaped my mouth, barely a whisper. "No need to thank us. We're your best friends. And you deserve this." Krissy smiled, and wrapped her arms around me, everyone else joined in. My chest heaved up and down as I cried heavier. Oh my God. I'm meeting Vinny Castronovo this weekend. EEEPPPP....
