Jacks POV
"Guys what's going on?" Joe asked as we all walked over to the sofas. Joe sat on one sofa expecting Dianne to sit with him but she came to sit next to me. "I was right" Dianne said softly staring at at Joe. "Right about what?" Joe replied. "About AJ, He was dying, his mum called me and I went to Brighton but when I got there it was too late" Dianne said starting to cry again.
"You went to Brighton on your own and you didn't tell me??" Joe asked Dianne looking shocked.
"I knew you would just worry , I wanted to go on my own to see AJs mum and.... see AJ for the last time" she replied.
"Of course I would worry because your my girlfriend" joe Shouted.
"Joe calm down a bit mate she's clearly upset" I said.
"Yeah sorry just shocked that's all" he replied.
"You ignored everyone's texts we were all so worried" joe said starting to get upset himself.
"Not everyone's"Dianne muttered under her breath.
"What do you mean" Joe replied.
"Well I answered Jack" she said.
"What do you mean you answered Jack?!" He questioned
"Well AJs mum wanted to stay in Brighton a bit longer to take care of everything and I didn't so I asked Jack to get the train to Brighton to meet me and go back with me" she replied.
"You got Jack to come get you instead of me" he said a tear going down his face.
"It's not like that i just needed a friend, I knew if I got you to come you would be panicking over me and trying to talk to me and hug me all the time and I know you mean well but I didn't really want to talk but I just needed to know someone was there and Jack seemed like the right person" she said tears streaming down her face and she tried to her face in my chest.
"I understand" Joe replied.
"Your not mad?" Jack asked shocked.
"No course not if a friend is what Dianne needed at the time them I accept that" he said.
"Thankyou Joe" Dianne said.
"No problem babe" Joe replied walking over. "Also about AJ it will get better soon"
"Thanks but Jack has already told me that about 15 times" Dianne said laughing and crying.
"I better get going then"  I said.
"Okay I will text you later" Dianne replied.
I have her a friendly hug before walking to the hallway Joe following me. Joe turned to me "Thankyou for looking after her and going to get her Jack, I appreciate it and she clearly does too" Joe said smiling at me.
"No problem Joe, I knew you would hate her coming home on her own late at night you would of freaked so I had to go get her it breaks my heart seeing her upset she's turned into a kinda sister for me" I replied hugging him.
"I think you may be her new AJ, jack" Joe said.
"Yeah I guess so" I replied.
"Which is good because at least she has someone to rely on when I'm not here" joe said.
"I'll see you later mate" I said as I left.
I knew I had to become a best friend type figure to Dianne since she just lost AJ and she needed a best friend that she could tell things to that isn't Joe.
