During The Night

~Ali's point of view

We were back at Ice's house, and I was sitting on the couch with the kitten in my arms as Ice and Karson talked about things they thought were important. I held a tiny baby bottle in my hand and fed the kitten milk with that because it wasn't big enough to eat on it's own yet.

The Chef called everyone for dinner, and I walked in the dining room with the kitten still in my arms.

"Please put.." Ice cut off the Chef before he could finish.

"Don't" Ice said, "he will not put the thing down. Let him be."

The Chef sighed, but he listened to Ice anyway. He set plates in front of everyone, and we began to eat. Later that night everyone was getting ready for bed, but I had other plans.

As soon as Ice was asleep, I got up and I grabbed the duffle bags I hid in the closet. I had the little kitten in my pocket on the inside of my jacket so that it could stay warm. When I was going through the house, I had to make sure to stay out of sight of the guards. It was a little tricky because they would turn around sooner than I would have liked, and I would hide behind anything that proved to be out of their sight. When I got to the front door, I quickly opened it and slipped through before quietly closing the door again. When it came to the outside guards, that was really easy because they never looked up. I climbed on the roof and moved from roof to roof before climbing down when I got near the forest's edge.

I quickly checked on the kitten, and saw that it was sound asleep in the pocket. I then checked both sides of the house before deciding that it was clear to enter the forest. To make extra sure that no one will see me, I climbed into the trees and made my journey home that way. Everytime I heard something beneath me, I would stop and listen or watch until the people were out of sight and earshot before I continued on my way. I always made sure to check on the kitten.

I was currently sitting on a tree branch with the kitten in my arms feeding it when I heard voices. I made sure to keep quiet as I continued to feed the kitten. I looked down and saw some people standing right under me talking about something that sounded like a rescue plan. I had my leg over the side of the branch swinging back and forth as I listened to them talk.

"We are going to get Ali back" I heard what sounded like Jet's voice say.

"We will get him back even if it's the last thing we do" Gash's voice came.

I looked around me and found a small stick. I grabbed it and aimed for the top of Jet's head and dropped it.

"What the hell?" Jet asked then they looked up at me.

I waved at them, "you might want to move."

Not even two seconds after they moved, my duffle bag landed where they were. They jumped when it made impact with the ground. I carefully put the kitten back in my pocket to keep warm and climbed down. I turned toward them with the kitten back in my hands, and Jet hugged me.

"Careful" I said, "I have a little passenger."

They looked at the kitten in my arms and were amazed.

"Aw" Jet said, "I didn't peg you to be a cat person."

"I found him all alone in an alley when I was still in their campsite" I said, "I couldn't leave the little one to die."

"How long have you been away from their site?" Gash asked curiously.

"See their site is seven hours away" I said thoughtfully, "and we are five minutes away from home... So seven hours. I've been sitting here for ten minutes because I needed a break and the kitten was hungry again."

I was about to say something else, but Jet stopped me by kissing me. I smiled and kissed him back, I was really happy to be by his side again. I was really miserable while I was away, and the kitten only made it a little more bearable for me. When we pulled away, Jet smiled and shook his head at me.

"Leave it to our Ali to rescue himself" Jet said and kissed me again real quick.

"He wants to marry me" I said rather annoyed.

Jet then looked at me hurt then, "what?"

I sighed, "Ice wants to marry me. So when morning comes, and he realizes that I'm gone. He is going to come looking for me."

"I won't let that happen" Jet said, "he will not take you from me. Especially not when I just got you. I love you Ali."

By the end of it, Jet was in tears because he felt like he was losing me. I could tell by the look in his eyes that he felt like he was losing me.

I grabbed his face, "you aren't losing me Jet. I won't let that happen, I would die before I marry Ice."

Gash grabbed my bag, and we headed to the house. When we got to the house, everyone was still awake, and they all looked at me shocked. I handed the kitten to Jet, and Shadow jumped in my arms and started crying.

"I'm glad you're okay Ali" Shadow said through tears, "when I woke up here, I freaked out because you weren't here as well."

"Hey it's okay" I said and held Shadow, "I'm okay, I'm here. There's nothing to worry about. I'm not going anywhere I promise."

"You got a kitten?" Axel asked confused.

"Yeah" I said, "I found him when I was still in the camp. I couldn't leave him there to die in the alley alone."

"Good I'm glad" Celina said as she smiled at the kitten in Jet's arms.

I looked over at Jet and smiled when I saw him kiss the kitten's head. The kitten made a noise at Jet making him smile.

"What is it's name?" Reese asked curiously.

"I was thinking about naming it Hero" I said honestly.

Celina smiled, "I like it."

Then we all went to bed, and Jet made a little bed on the floor with blankets for the kitten. He came and laid on the bed next to me and kissed me. We began making out then we had a wonderful night together.
