Mr Smith was walking down the stairs of the maths room speedily, attempting to dry his sleeve. Some kid in his class had been messing around with water or something and sprayed it on Mr Smith's sleeve. He was lucky it wasn't coffee or anything that would stain – his shirt was a pale grey, his suit jacket dark, royal blue and trousers a deep black.
His eyes were wide, although he lacked his usual amount of sleep. His cat, William, had been scratching at his window all night in an attempt to catch the squirrel which rested on the tree in his garden.
He managed to dry his sleeve, although it was still damp when he left the men's room.
"Oi, listen to me, you dumbass!" A male voice sneered quietly from around the corner. Mr Smith froze in an attempt to listen for a little longer.
"Try me. I can't wait for the pain,"Another voice, also male.
"Oh, you won't feel the pain. And you'll be knocked out after the first punch,"
"Knocked out by your repulsive face and scent, that's what," one quipped. Mr Smith looked cautiously around the corner of the building. A boy was squaring up another boy, both with two black eyes, a swollen nose and blood seeping from their lips.
"What did you just say?"one male, identified as Reuben, seethed with boiling anger. The other took this moment to swing at Reuben's face.
Robyn has decided to walk around the corner at taht moment, taking the punch instead of Reuben. She crumpled to the floor in a pile of muffled sobs, holding her jaw in pain."Ow," she whimpered, biting her lip in hopes of silencing her sobs.
She'd been crying a long time now, still hiccuping in student reception with an ice pack held to her jaw.
Mr Smith walked past, turning into the medical room.
"Hey. How're you doing?" he asked, face red from stress and lack of sleep.
"I'm okay," Robyn smiled weakly, wincing at her jaw.
"Thanks for checking in,""You're Mr Smith, right?" Mr
Smith nodded.
"That's me,"
