Chapter 7: Gabriel?!?!

Emilie's POV
I was in the hideout. It was the middle of the night, so, everyone else was asleep. I was trying to quit drinking, so I was having a glass of water instead of wine. Just then, I saw Adrien come out from his and Ira's bedroom.
Me:"hey, kiddo, what're you doing up?"
Adrien:"I couldn't sleep."
Me:"really? Why?"
Adrien:"...well...don't you wonder what father might be doing right now? How lonely he might be?"
Me:"..."
Me:"...don't worry about him, Adrien..knowing Gabriel, he'll get back on his feet one of these days."
Adrien:"...I guess you're right. Thanks, mom."
Me:"no problem, you'd better get back to bed now, it's late."
Adrien:"Yeah, goodnight."
Me:"goodnight."
Adrien went back to bed and I took another light sip of my water.

Gabriel's POV
It's been quite a few weeks since I last saw Adrien. That new friend of his must've taken him! I knew I shouldn't have let him stay in our home! Then again, there's still something about that strange boy that I find familiar...like...we'd known each other once.

                                *Flashback*

                               "Daddy!"

                           *End of flashback*

I held up my hand to my head.
Me:"what...was that?"
I said to myself. Soon, I narrowed my eyes and made my hand go back to my side.
'...I have to find out who that boy is.'
I thought, then turned into Hawkmoth. Nobody was around, so I could do so. I then, used my miraculous to teleport me to wherever Adrien is. I ended up in another city, no..a whole other country! I decided to transform back into my original form before anyone saw me. I gritted my teeth.
'This is going to be harder than I imagined.'

Next day...

Adrien's POV
I was sitting in the main room of the hideout, eating some Cheetos, when Ira came into the main room and flopped next to me on the couch.
Ira:"I'm so boooooorrrrrreeeeed!"
Me:"yeah, come to think of it, we haven't done anything all day."
Ira:"well, what should we do?"
Me:"I don't know, what do you wanna do?"
Ira thought for a moment, then, sat up and looked at me.
Ira:"well...I've been thinking about that offer you and Plagg wanted me to do, y'know, the one about me training you how to fight properly? Why don't we do that?"
Me:"you actually wanna try it? What do you think, Plagg?"
I asked as Plagg entered the room with some Camembert in his little hand-things. Plagg took a bite out of his stinky cheese and swallowed.
Plagg:"I think it would be a smart thing to do, seeing that you're still new to being a superhero. Just..uh...let me finish eating before you transform."
Me:"wow, the little black cat is actually being sensible for once."
Plagg:"eh, we all have our moments."
Plagg took two more bites of his cheese, finishing the piece off. I stood up and transformed. Ira teleported us both to earth in a clearing. Ira was just standing straight. I decided to attack first, I was about to punch him (not hard, of course!) but to my surprise, Ira jumped up over me before I could even touch him! I turned back to look at him, he was standing behind me calmly, with a little smile on his face. I smile, too, and turn my body around to face him.
Me:"hey! Go easy on me! I'm still new to this!"
Ira:"actually, Adrien..I am going easy on you."
Just then, Ira threw a punch at me, I barely dodged!
Me:"woah, you're fast!"
I said, throwing a punch right back at him, but before I could hit him, he grabbed my fist!
Ira:"I know!"
Ira pulled on my wrist and threw me off to the side! I looked back up at him in amazement.
'Ira's really strong! I'm gonna need to up my game!'

3rd person POV
                                                   Ira and Adrien wrestled around and challenged each other for what seemed like hours. After awhile, they both got tired and decided to take a rest under the shade of a tree, Ira passed a water bottle to Adrien. Adrien de-transformed and gave Plagg some Camembert. Ira took of his jacket and laid in the grass.
Adrien:"wow! He took it off! I was starting to think it was glued to your skin!"
Adrien teased,
Ira:"har har, very funny."
Ira said, rolling his eyes. The three boys (including Plagg) hung out together, enjoying the bright, sunny day.

Adrien's POV
                                     Ira, Plagg and I were all hanging out under a tree and drank some water until I noticed someone walking over to us, Plagg hid in my jacket and once I realized who it was, my heart dropped. Ira noticed who it was, too and stayed silent. It was father! Ira stood up and I did the same.
Gabriel:"Adrien, it's high time you come home."
Me:"..."
I thought for a moment,
'What if I...DO go home?...what would happen to Ira and mom?...'
I look at Ira, he seems like he's expecting me to agree with father and go home...he looked upset...
'...what would...happen to Ira if...if I left him alone?'
Just then, a horrifying image crowded my mind...it was of Ira on the ground, a pool of blood surrounding him, and a bloody knife just out of his grasp.
'He wouldn't...would he?...would he really...kill himself?'
As these thoughts came to mind, I knew my answer,
Me:"I'm sorry, father, but I'm not going with you."
I said, firmly.
Gabriel:"WHAT?!"
Even Ira was surprised that I wanted to stay, but that didn't matter, because even if there's just the slightest chance that what I saw could actually have some truth to it, I have to make sure it never happens.
Gabriel:"you would rather live with your worthless friend than go home with your own father?!?!"
Me:"he's not worthless and he's not just my friend!!!"
Gabriel:"what are you talking about?!"
Me:"HE'S JUST AS MUCH YOUR SON AS I AM!! HE'S MY BROTHER!!!"
Gabriel:"..."
Father looked shocked, he stared at Ira for a few moments.

Ira's POV
Adrien, you IDIOT!!! He wasn't supposed to know!!!!

Gabriel's POV
I stared at the boy for a few moments, just then, memories came back to me in floods,

Some boys told me you hated me...is that true, daddy? Do you only love Adrien?

Daddy, why were you and mommy fighting? Are you not happy anymore?

Me:"...Ira..."
I couldn't believe it...how could I have forgotten?
Ira:"...so you finally remembered...."
Me:"...I'm so sorry..."
Ira:"yeah? Well, it's too late now...you blew it."
Just then, I saw Emilie teleport here! When she saw me, she was furious.
Emilie:"...Gabriel."
Me:"...Emilie...I'm sorry..."
Emilie:"no...I'm not letting you in again...I'm taking Ira and Adrien, and I'm never letting you see them again."
Me:"...Emilie..you...you can't do that!"
Emilie:"actually, I can. Or have you also forgotten that Splendorious isn't on earth and therefore, I can't be touched by the authorities?"
Me:"Emilie, I'm begging you. Don't."
Ira:"...mom-
Emilie:"Ira, I've got this under control."
Adrien:"but are you sure this is a good idea-
Emilie:"yes. Gabriel has done more bad than good for our family and it has to end now."
Me:"Emilie-
Emilie:"GABRIEL!! You pushed me and Ira away and you broke my heart!! Do you honestly think that I can forgive you for that?! Do you think you can really just show up here unannounced and rip my heart even more than it already is?!"
Me:"...and do you really think that cutting our children off from ever seeing their father again is a good thing to do? I never cut you off from seeing Adrien...and I never said I didn't love you and Ira, I do. You're the only one that has been cutting this family apart, not me. I've been trying for years to find a way to get you  back. And now that you're here, I don't want you to go, nor do I want our sons to grow up this way. So...can't we go back to the way it was? Can't we start over?"
Emilie:"...fine...but we're never getting re-married..."
Ira:"..."
Me:"...thank you..."
Adrien was smiling slightly, but Ira was glaring at me as to say:"don't mess this up". I left soon after. Now we have a plan: the boys will live with Emilie for the first month, and the next month, they'll be with me. They'll switch back and forth between homes each month. Which I think is fair enough.
