Chapter 2: A secret revealed

Ira's POV
I had just finished making the octopus balls and I walked out of the kitchen with 4 of them, 2 for both of us.
Me:"aaaand, done! Time to chow down!"
I said excitedly, handing Adrien the two octopus balls I made. While already taking a bite out of one of mine. Adrien took a bite of one, then his eyes went wide open, now I was a little nervous, did he not like it?
Me:"uhhh, what's wrong? Too crunchy? Too soft?"
Adrien:"This...is the best thing I have ever tasted!"
Me:"r-really? You like it?"
Adrien:"like it?! Are you kidding?! I LOVE IT!"
Me:"I think you're overreacting a bit, it's only octopus balls, I grew up making these with Bel. Sometimes, my other guardian, Marmo, even helps out!
Adrien:"boy, you sure do talk about your guardians a lot. They must be really special to you."
Me:"...I guess..."
Adrien:"you guess?"
Me:"...well...I don't know...I've gotten myself hurt a lot worse there then I ever got hurt anywhere else...sometimes, I visit my mom, but she's more miserable then anyone else after my dad left...though, there are some people that care enough to help me."
I said, unwillingly blushing at the memory of Rachel helping me.
Adrien:"hey, are you sick or something? Your face is all red."
Me:"hm? Oh, it's nothing, I just remembered something embarrassing, that's all."
Adrien:"ha! You think YOU'VE had embarrassing moments? I'm the KING of embarrassing moments as a super hero! I got tangled up with Ladybug in her yo-yo, I always end up getting affected by an Akuma attack while trying to protect my partner, AND there was also something about her kissing me on Valentines Day but I don't remember that at all."
Me:"dude! REALLY?!"
Adrien:"I know!"
Me:"that's so funny!"
Adrien:"I KNOW! 🤣"
Me:"wow...that's-..."
I stopped my sentence, I felt some sort of evil presence near us. I felt myself jolt up as a hand crept onto my shoulder, I turn my head to see a man, dressed in a white suit, black glasses, and really light blonde hair, he seemed serious, like...really serious. I doubted that he'd ever smiled in his entire life!
Man:"Hello, I'm Adrien's father, Gabriel. But, it would be best if you called me Mr. Agreste.I apologize if I startled you, Mr..."
Me:"uhm, my name's Ira sir."
G.A:"Ira, nice to meet you. Do you have a last name, by any chance?"
Adrien:"he doesn't, father. I think you're making him a bit nervous."
G.A:"ah, of course. But, what is your new friend doing here anyway, Adrien?"
Adrien:"oh uh, I was meaning to ask you, and I know that you're probably gonna say no, but...can he stay with us for a few weeks?"
G.A:"...hmm..."

Gabriel's POV
                                     I walk into the room to see a boy with peculiar-looking hair, sitting at the kitchen table across from my son, Adrien. They were eating some sort of ball on a stick and talking, they seemed to be having a good time, though, I didn't hear much of their conversation, just laughter. I was about to approach them when the unfamiliar boy was about to say something. He stopped talking before he even finished his sentence, and that's when I noticed that the boy had bat wings behind his ears because they twitched a bit as I was coming their way, as if he could sense my presence. I put my hand on the boys shoulder, making him jolt a bit. He looked at me and I introduced myself and apologized for startling him like that. He introduced himself and his name was apparently Ira...now, why did that name sound so familiar to me?...Adrien stepped into the conversation and asked me if Ira could stay with us for a few weeks,
Me:"...hmm..."
'Letting this boy stay in the house is absurd! But...on the other hand, if I let him stay, I might be able to find out why he seems so familiar to me.'
Me:"...alright."
Adrien looked at me, surprised at my answer, but there was also happiness in his eyes, which, as a father, I was happy to see.
Adrien:"really, father?!"
Me:"I don't see why not."
Adrien:"you're the best! C'mon, Ira! There's an extra bed in my room you can use!"
Ira:"cool!"
They both headed upstairs to Adrien's room, and I returned to my office.
