swimming day and itchy shoulders

Jamie pov

beep beep beep beep!!!

grrrrrrrrrrrr shut up you dumb alarm clock. I rolled over and slammed my hand down on top of it. I rolled out of bed and got dressed for the swim challenge sports we have every year so I put my bathers on under my uniform. a plain black one piece with a picture of a bird silhouette right between my breasts.

Kaleb yay!!

I shook my head to clear those thoughts off.

I don't feel like that and never will. Blake was my mate and I only get one.

I grumbled down the steps and had some weat-bix and got my bag. I rode to school and parked my bike next to a shiny black honda. I locked the wheels and took my keys out of the ignition. I walked up to school main building and went straight tome my locker. grabbed my stuff and dumped my overly heavy bag. I walked to my first class and sat down and started reading again.

kaleb pov

I got up early and walked into my ènsuit (don't know how to spell it) . I combed back my hair made sure the dye was in and looked at myself in the mirror. ever since I came back whenever I'm near Jamie I can't control my shifts.

I'm struggling to remain an almost normal eye colour near her and not fully black or green because then Jamie would know. I decided to change it up and did my hair so it was like the crown of feathers I get in alpha state. when I was done I looked back in the mirror and literally watched a black spiral creep around my eye and down in front of my ear and down my neck until it reached my collar bone.

"dad!" I shouted he ran up the stairs all the way into my room.

"what is it?" he asked all concerned.

"I walked out and he looked at me starting at my feet and finally reaching my face.

"what is this? I just watch it like burn into my skin in the mirror so what the flying rats ass is it?"

I ended up yelling at him. unintentionally.

"son calm down." he said quietly. calm down! calm down! he wants me to calm down. my eyes switched colour and my head itches where I got the weird feather crown.

"no! no! I will not calm down!" I screamed. my father didn't seem to be fazed at all. he just continued talking in his calm demeanour.

" that is no way to talk to your father and you absolutely need to calm down. It's ok, it's just part of being a shifter. I believe you told me that Jamie has something similar on her face, no?" I looked down and took a few deep breaths. When I was composed again I looked back up at him and nodded.

"Exactly, it's just a sign of power. Does the brother have one?" He asked.

"I don't know I haven't seen him." I replied.

"why is it on my face is that the only place it can be?" I then asked.

"No it can be anywhere on your body. Even in embarrassing places," he chuckled. Then I looked at the time and decided it was time to go, even though that meant I would be seriously early. I just didn't like where this was going. I went down stairs grabbed my bag and went out to my car. When I was half way there i realised I hadn't had breakfast and that is was hungry so I pulled into a nearby maccas and got a breaky wrap and a coffee. I needed some caffeine. I got it fast and ate it on the rest of the drive. I pulled up right I front of the school and grabbed my coffee and mt bag and went to sit under a tree to read. I sat down and looked at the time on my I phone. 7:55am good plenty of time. This college had the. Option of a dorm or staying with parents or in your own home.

I chose to live with the old man. I don't have a proper mum at the moment. anyway, so as I said I sat down pulled out a book opened it and fell asleep. later I woke up and the bell was ringing so I leapt up grabbed my bags and ran to class. accidentally leaving my journey on the ground. my labeled journal.

Jamie pov

so after our first class we all had to the bus to go to the swimming day. fun.

I ended up sitting next to kaleb but we didn't talk much. when we finally got there I got out afap, as fast as possible, and ran to an empty seat at the back. I took off the uniform and sat on my towel. I saw kaleb and his gang hanging around kaydon and getting ready. so they were taking off their shirts. I noticed on the left side of kaleb chest was small cross shaped puncture wound. kind of like the hole you put a straw in on the lidocaine amaccas cup. but other then that, mother of purl! he was like perfectly toned with a chiseled six pack. he turned his head around and noticed me looking and smirked the waved. my face burned red and I shot my eyes down to my lap.  I kinda sat for  a bit just looking down at my hands. then I heard some shuffling and saw him makings his way over to me. crap. he sat next to me and we talked a little until everyone's attention was diverted to the front where a small woman with a high pony tail and glasses was standing with a clipboard.

"alright students, settle down. today will be simple. I believe that you have ready been told a sectors and if you know then that's great if not please go see professor Martin. so once everyone knows one or two people from each will be chosen to race in a certain stroke. there will be as many heats as Medicare so that every one gets a turn at each stroke of you don't know a certain stroke you will not participate. alright now first heat will bring kaleb, Sam, Brittany, sasha, and Tom. kaleb frowned and said a short bye then walked back to his friends.  a few min later he went up to the start and lined up like a pro. soon the whistle blew and he dive into the pool. at first he lagged but about half way he looked at me and for a second I saw his right eye, it. was surrounded in black swirls. it lasted for a millisecond until he looked back down and suddenly got a burst of speed.

he won the race, all all of his other ones but the swirls next never showed again.

in the end I came second third and second again.

for  a second the I lost my concentration. I hope she didn't notice. it was hard being near her without scratching all the skin off my back.

it's driving me insane.
