2010

They did stay friends, but it hurt to be around each other. All of their other friends noticed they didn't have the same connection that they used to, the same chemistry. Even Alex's girlfriend noticed.

Miles tried getting a girlfriend. He messed around, but it just didn't work out.
Miles only found himself falling further in love with Alex. Being with a girl felt wrong for once.

Maybe he was gay?

But then he realised, he didn't love boys. Sure, he messed around with them a lot, but he didn't love boys. He loved one boy.

Miles and Alex put their differences behind them, trying to think about the future, but it was evident that they were both stuck in the past.

Miles wasn't going to let any of this affect him. It did, but he was going to refuse it. He knew there was still a catalyst somewhere they could use to fuel their relationship back to where it was. He wanted to hold his hand again without worry.

All Miles wanted was a friendship. A proper one. No more fucking about. Pure, wholesome friendship.

Everything Alex was could belong to Miles. Both men knew they each had a piece of the other's heart in their hands, but had been holding them for so long they'd be scared of giving them back.
