Saga of Harmony Shan

Chapter Two

I was rushed on to the bus pleased with my answer for now. Working up a plan, by the end of the day I may know more than my mum wants me too.

At lunch I'm going to look up my dad on the computer. I'm sure I will find something. Nothing, I got no information on his name. Damn! I was hoping to at least find out where he is. I was upset and kicked the ground as I walked to the bus alone.

I grumbled and slumped into my usual seat and then the best thing happened. Damien got on the bus. He walked to my seat and sat down. "Hey, Harmony? right?" he asked. "Yeah," I mumbled with a shaky grin. I was in heaven that he was here, sitting next to me, on my bus! We talked the whole bus ride, until he had to get off and couple stops later I got off too. When mum picked me up I asked again about my mysterious father, Darius Shan.

"Mum, who was he? My father, was he a bad guy? Is that why you don't speak of him?" I asked curiously. "We have a lot to speak about. I shall tell you when we get home. I don't know If it's safe to say aloud not in the safety of our home." We left it at that until we got home.

When we arrived she shoved me along in front of her into the wardrobe and clicked a small red button. A hatch near the corner opened with a bright white light and she guided me in. we sat in the light, in here it wasn't as bright as it looked.

"Wha-" I began, "Shh!" mum hushed. she closed the hatch and the room suddenly got dimmer and I could see without squinting my eyes. it was a fairly large room and it had a tv and couch near one end. In the middle of the room was a small table with a 3 chairs around it. "wha-" I began again but was cut short again. "I have much to tell you Harmony, it is time you learned." she said.

"Let's start with your father, his name is Darius Shan. He was a half-vampire since he was younger than you. He was Darren Shan's nephew. Darren Shan was a boy who became a half vampire around your age."

"So I could be a vampire!?" I asked excitedly.

"Not really,"she began again. "You see Darius was a vampaneze and Darren turned him half-vampire instead. Darren was blooded at a young age because he stole a vampires spider. The spider bit his best friend and he gave up humanity to be a vampire so he could save his best friend."

"So he did it all for a friend?" I asked confused.

"Yes he did, and the friend thought that he was plotting against him. He swore to hunt and kill him and his master. He then went and had Darius with his friends sister. He tainted Darius's blood with vampaneze blood after he himself was blooded. he was The Lord of the Vampaneze."

Mum explained about vampires and vampaneze and the whole story. I was so shocked, it was a lot to comprehend. I then hatched an idea in which was virtually foolproof. She told me about Cirque Du Freak, a freak show where a vampire worked and that's how Darren got turned. My plan got even better with that detail.
