AVALON RAYNE has never been happier. in the months after mount weather, she and bellamy finally were together and never want to take that for granted anymore. laken began visiting, she and bellamy taking her for weeks at a time. raven was doing better. she was working on mending her relationship with her father. if mount weather taught her anything, it was that people don't always stay.
but that doesn't necessarily mean it's not hard. avalon still felt the guilt, over everything. some days, she just couldn't train because the weapons would not be used the way they're intended. bellamy gets nightmares that shake avalon awake. it pains her to see it, but she would stay up however long he needed her comfort, because he means more to her than herself. he's there when she hears a drill and curls up, when a syringe is anywhere near her, or anyone asks for blood. she felt bad, no longer able to work with raven on updates to the ark. mount weather changed them all. and clarke leaving put the weight on bellamy and avalon's shoulders.
they aren't at war with the grounders. but when someone wants to be, someone who avalon used to admire, is a battle of right and wrong. it doesn't matter that they might not agree, because to avalon, people are people and no one has to die. war is not necessary this time, a war that would wipe out hundreds of people. avalon has seen enough bad, and for once, they'll do this this the right way.
when charles pike takes the role as chancellor is when avalon looses what little patience she has left.
