~~~Harry's POV~~~
It had been a week since Harry had woken up from his coma.
Harry lay in his hospital bed, bored. His health had gotten increasingly better over the days he had spent at the hospital wing. He didn't need the breathing mask anymore, and there were no more tubes in his arms.
He felt like he was in perfect shape, and was getting very bored with the hospital wing, but Madam Pomfrey wanted to keep him there as an extra precaution.
As he fumbled with the bandages around his shoulder, he thought about what Severus had said the day before.
"Harry, I'd like to talk to you about something..." Severus said. His expression was serious and a bit grim.
"Is something wrong, Severus?" Harry asked, concerned.
"No no, nothing's wrong. It's well... I don't know how to put this..." Severus said. There was a long pause of silence.
Harry sat up straighter, waiting. He knew that Severus would tell him in his own time.
"You don't have to tell me now, if you want. We can wa-" He said, but was cut off by Severus.
"I was wondering if you'd like to be my son."
Harry was taken aback. "W-wait, what??"
Severus sighed. Harry could see the colour flush into his cheeks.
"When you became sick, I realised how much I cared about you. You are like a son to me. So... why not make it official?" Severus had an awkward smile on his face. He wondered how Harry would react.
Harry felt elated. His mouth widened in a huge grin, and he jumped up and hugged Severus.
"Of course! Of course!" Harry exclaimed. He could feel his eyes begin to water. He felt the happiest he had been in his entire life.
Usually, Severus would be staying with Harry right now, but he had gone to deal with the paperwork of adopting Harry.
Harry heard the sound of footsteps growing louder, so he looked up. Madam Pomfrey was coming over to him with a tray of food containing his dinner. Chicken, peas, carrots and a small mince pie with milk.
"Here you go, Harry." She said, before placing the tray on Harry's lap.
"Thank you, Madam Pomfrey." Harry said gratefully.
"It's no problem, dear." She replied. Harry was about to tuck into his dinner, but he realised that Madam Pomfrey was still standing beside his bed. He looked up at her questioningly.
"So, Harry. How have you been feeling?" She asked.
"Really good. I've just been pretty bored. There's not much to do here." Harry said, trying to be honest.
Madam Pomfrey hesitated for a moment. "Well... I've just got your recent test results back, and it shows that you're in perfect health."
Harry's heart lightened considerably. He looked up at Madam Pomfrey hopefully.
"In that case... You can leave after dinner." She said with a slightly forced smile. For some mysterious reason, Madam Pomfrey sounded like she did not want to let Harry go.
"Wow, that's great! Thank you!" Harry exclaimed, feeling thrilled.
"I'll leave you to your dinner, then." Madam Pomfrey said, before walking away to her office.
Harry smiled to himself, feeling ecstatic.
Finally, Harry's life was going to return to normal.
