I woke up the next morning to find I was in the bed alone.

Maybe Damon went to go job hunting?

Who knows.

I heard a quiet knock on the door.

I groaned and dragged myself out of Damon's bed.

I unlocked and opened the door a crack to reveal a very stressed and sad Jordan.

"Kinsey, I cant stand you hating me." He croaked.

My heart started to ache in agony. I can't stay mad at him forever.

He's my brother for Christ's sake!

I opened the door completely and pulled Jordan in for a hug.

"I'm sorry." He cried.

"It's okay." I sighed.

"You just have to trust that I know what I'm doing. Damon wants to help us. He's an our friend, not our enemy. He really does care about us." I said, tears starting to crowd my vision.

"I'm sorry." He repeated.

I pulled away and gave his shoulders a reassuring squeeze.

"You just have to trust me" I smiled.

Jordan sniffed and smiled back at me.

"Do you forgive me?" He whispered."

"All is forgiven."

Kylee's P.O.V:

Ever since the incident that took Valerie's life, I've been living with my brother and his family. I also started taking care of Valerie's little sister, Cadence.

I've been trying to help her cope with the loss of her sister, but not much will help.

It's only been a month, so I don't blame her for being so upset.

Especially since she's only six.

I've been taking her to counciler, but I guess only time can heal these wounds she has.

I've done research on the Rodriguez family, and found out that the last member of her family was her father.

Later I found out that he was apart of a gang and that was the main reason Valerie and her brother got kidnapped.

I grabbed my mobile phone and dialed my cousin's number.

"Hello?" Her voice rang through the speakers of the phone.

"Hey Kins, I have a question. About Cadence."

"What about Cadence." She asked slyly.

"Is her father.... Stable."

"I doubt it. He's probably a mad man. He lost his whole family in a span of two years. Why do you ask?"

"I want to know if he's stable enough to see Cadence."

"I wouldn't recommend it." She said lowly.

"Okay. Thanks." I said, hanging up.

I went back to my laptop and looked up the Rodriguez family again.

I found the man's phone number and dialed it.

It rang a few times before someone answered.

"Hello?" The raspy voice said.

"Hello, is this Gregory Rodriguez?" I asked, slightly nervous.

"Yes. Who's asking?"

"This is Kylee Collins. I'm calling to say I've heard about your family. I want to know if you're okay?"
