Hanna finished applying her lipstick and smiled at herself in the mirror. She was going on a date with a guy she met at a concert. His name was Pierce. She wasn't sure if she liked him yet, but he was hot. He was tall, with blonde curls and the most dashing blue eyes. She left her small Atlanta apartment and left to meet him.
Pierce sat at the table for two at a fancy restaraunt waiting for his date. He sat patiently, knowing that she'd show up.
"Pierce? Oh hey..." Hanna sighed, almost disappointed that he was here.
"Hello, darling." Pierce smiled kindly at her. Hanna couldn't help but melt.
"So...its a um...really fancy restaraunt." Hanna looked around admiring the fancy decor and sophisticated feel of the restaraunt. As beautiful as it was, she knew that she did not belong in a place such as this. This was for the high-strung. The ones with a blue print for their life. The people who plan exactly how every moment of their life will go. The people who get married to someone whom they don't even love, it was just part of the plan. Hanna was a free spirit. And she knew it.
"You don't like it?" He asked.
"No! I mean, yeah, I love it, it's just not....me." Hanna stuttered, embarrassed that she had said anything. She felt as if she sounded ungrateful.
"Well then, what is, Ms Hanna?" He smiled brightly at her again, a sparkle lighting up in his eye.
"I like things that don't cost money. To show that you can still have fun with a person even without an expensive date." Hanna looked at Pierce. She could tell he was not sure what she meant. He was not used to feelings. But at the same time, Hanna wasn't either. She realized she didn't really know what she was talking about, but she kept talking any way. If you can't blow them away with your brilliance, baffle them with your bull shit. "You know...like taking a walk or something, looking at stars, a beach bonfire, those types of things." She kept on naming things that she'd often seen in movies. Although it was true Hanna did not like the fancy restaraunt, she'd never done any of the other things and actually had fun either.
"Ohh...I have just the perfect thing. It's none of those things. It's better." He said leaning back in his chair as if he was contemplating a bargain. "Let's go." Pierce stood up, placing his napkin on the table and throwing a 10 dollar bill out as a tip for service they didn't even get.
"W- Now?" Hanna stuttered.
"Yes of course, now! Why not?" He cocked his brow.
"I don't even know you! Are you crazy?" She asked standing up.
"I don't know, I guess you'll have to find out." He grinned, leaning forward to her.
"If you murder me, Im gonna strangle you." Hanna narrowed her eyes at him. "Let's go."
She wasn't sure why she was doing this, but something in her made her really trust Pierce. This over-confident, romantic, probably insane, but kind guy that she just met.
They got into Pierce's car and he started driving somewhere where only he knew. He pulled his car into a parking spot, right in front of a tall building. Hanna looked at him with a questioning look.
"Here we are." Pierce said, unbuckling his seatbelt and getting out of the car.
"What the hell..." Hanna mumbled to herself as she got out of the car.
"We are in one of the most light polluted cities in America. So, I may not can show you the real stars but I can show you some beautiful city stars." Pierce looked up at the tall building.
