Hanna lie on her couch with the phone pressed to her ear. She laughed at a joke that Grey had just told her. They had been on the phone for about half an hour. The two were supposed to go on a date the next night. He had chosen the spot: a picnic in the park."Oh my gosh and this one time I was in the bathroom washing my face and there was a roach about the size of my fist crawling on the counter! I screamed and then it crawled on my toothbrush. My toothbrush, Grey!! I had to go wake up my mom to come kill it." She laughed.
"I'm a professional bug killer! Next time you need help killing a bug, just call me!" Hanna could practically feel him winking on the other end of the line.
"I will ke-" Hanna was interrupted by a knock at her door. "Hold on Grey, someone's at my door."
"Don't get stolen! We still have a date tomorrow!" He called. Hanna smiled and made her way to the door.
"Hey Hanna! I brought you your favorite: sunflowers! Well....they weren't exactly in season but I got you plastic ones so they'll never die!" Joey stood outside of her apartment door with a bouquet of false sunflowers. The corners of his mouth was turned up into a big grin. Hanna stood, wide eyed.
"O-Oh Joey! Um, thankyou! Hold on..." She lifted the phone to her ear and whispered, "hey Grey, Ill have to call you back ok?"
"Ok. Don't forget about our date tomorrow!"
"I don't think you would let me." She laughed and smiled.
"Bye Hanna."
"Bye Grey." She smiled to herself and ended the call.
She turned back and looked at Joey. "Here let me take those." She took the flowers from him.
Joey barely noticed her taking the flowers out of his hand. He was too busy rolling the idea of Hanna and another guy on a date in his head. A guy named Grey at that!
"S-So, you've got a date tomorrow, huh?" He looked at her. For some reason, his look made Hanna feel like she was betraying him.
"Yea...umm his name is Grey." She forced a smile. She didn't know why this was painful. She could see the betrayed look in Joey's eyes and it tore her. He just nodded.
"Well I just wanted to bring those by. See you around." Joey mumbled looking at the floor and slipping his hands into his pockets.
"Bye Joey." Hanna gave him a small smile.

Joey stomped into the apartment where Phoebe,
Rachel, Monica, Chandler and Ross sat around the coffee table playing cards."Hanna's going on a date." He stated flatly and slammed the door.
"That's awesome!" Monica said placing her cards on the coffee table and standing up. Chandler, Phoebe, and Rachel all leaned over to peek at Monica's cards while she was distracted. Ross slapped Chandler on the shoulder and pulled him away from the deck of cards.
"No. It's not. I'm supposed to be taking her on a date!" Joey said holding his arms out. "We've gotten so close these past few weeks. It's supposed to be me!"
"Joey maybe you should just ask." Chandler suggested looking over his shoulder at him.
"I don't wanna ask! Besides, she's going on the date with this other guy named Grey. Who even has the name Grey, anyways?" Joey pouted.
"People who's parents name them Grey..." Phoebe said not bothering to look up from her hand of cards.
"Joey, you don't even know if the date is going to go well! What if she doesn't like this Grey guy? So then you shoot your shot, right? Hanna is just trying to test the waters. She's been out of the dating game for a while. Just give it some time." Monica said giving him a squeeze on the shoulder. "Wait, are you gonna shoot your shot?" She asked stepping away from Joey.
"Oh my gosh, guys! Joey has a crush! Like on a girl he's never had sex with before!" Rachel exclaimed jumping out of her seat.
"I don't have a crush, Rach." He rolled his eyes but then stopped. "Wait...do I have a crush? I don't even remember what crushes are like. I haven't had one since like...the third grade!"
Everyone gave him a quizzical look.
"Joey...she's never gonna know if you like her if you never tell her." Ross said glancing at Rachel longingly.
"Ross is right. You should go for it!" Monica urged.
"But if you hurt her I will hurt you." Ross threatened shallowly.
"Oh come on, Ross. You're like a chihuahua. You're all bark and no bite." Rachel scrunched her nose playfully.
The group laughed while Ross just had a hurt look on his face.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Hanna looked at herself in the mirror. She smoothed her curly red locks around her ear. There was a knock at the door and she tore her eyes away from the mirror, praying that she looked good enough. When she opened the door, it was Grey standing outside her apartment door with a rose in his hand. She stood there, briefly remembering Joey standing there the same way, except he had her favorite flower in hand. She smiled.
"Wow...You look...gorgeous." He stuttered looking her over.
"Shut up. I'm just wearing a blouse and jeans."
"Yea but you are totally rocking it." He smiled. "You ready?" Hanna nodded as she took Greys arm and he led her out of her apartment building. They hailed a cab to the park they planned on eating at. On the way there, Hanna and Grey exchanged few words. Instead they sat in the back of the cab with their fingers intertwined in comfortable silence. Grey was being so gently and patient.
When they arrived, the sun was setting as Grey opened the blanket to lay it over the grass. He then got his bag of chinese takeout and set it down. He plopped down onto the blanket and patted the place beside him. Hanna sat down. They dug into the food and began talking about random things. Hanna couldn't help but feel enthralled by him. He was so kind, and so respectful. She wanted to be reluctant because of what Pierce had done to her, but she couldn't help but feel like she just wanted to jump into his arms. It scared her. Did she just want the positive attention?
To Hanna, the night went by too fast. The sun was down and the stars were now shining down on the couple.
Hanna sat with Grey's jacket draped over her shoulders as they smiled and laughed and chatted about nothing in particular.
When it was time for them to leave, Hanna couldn't help but feel sad that the night had ended.
The car ride home was the same as it was to the park. They had their fingers intertwined and their eyes locked on eachothers. Hanna now sat in the middle seat, her side pressed up against his.
Grey's eyes flickered to Hanna's lips for a moment. When his eyes met hers again, they held a look as if he was silently asking for her permission.
Hanna leaned her head forward slightly, as if to say that it was ok.
Their lips met in a small, light, and passionate kiss. Short, but sweet. They both pulled away with the feeling of butterflies flying around in their stomach. Hanna smiled to herself and looked down at her hand in her lap. She bit her bottom lip slightly, trying to feel the kiss again.
When they arrived back at her apartment, they said their goodbyes and shared one more short kiss.
When Hanna shut her door, she immediately did a small jump and a light squeal. She hadn't felt this way in so long. She felt like a highschool girl in love with the football team captain.
Hanna went to sleep that night with a smile on her face. She couldn't believe the night she had just shared with Grey and how he had made her feel.
Joey went to sleep that night with a frown on his face. He was so uncertain about what he was feeling for Hanna. Joey just wanted to love her. He wanted to be the one to take her on dates in the park. He wondered how her date with Grey had went and all the feelings he made her feel.Joey wanted her. He wanted her so badly.
Hanna wanted to think Grey was different. She wanted that so badly.
