Chapter One

Chapter One // The Angel Demon

Jack

I stand before the supernatural court, my hands folded. "We are here today-" The chief Soul Keeper announces. "Due to a half Angel, half Demon hybrid," he exclaims.

Immediately, all the angels and demons in the crowds start to boo.

"Abomination!"

"Disgrace to our kind!"

"What are we even in court for?! Just execute him!"

"Silence!" The Chief Soul Keeper shouts. "We have already decided that his parents will be sentenced to the eternal flames for committing such a sin," he starts.

My eyes widen. "No! This is wrong!" I shout. An Angel falling in love with a Demon should not be such a catastrophe. It is not deserving of death at least.

"Shut up hybrid!" a voice in the crowd- coming from the Demon's side shouts.

"This is an unusual case. Jack Areal Overland the Angel Demon did not necessary commit a sin, he was just born from sin," the Chief speaks.

The Chief Angel clears her throat. "May I have a word please?" She asks, eyeing me. "Yes you may," The Chief Soul Keeper states.

"I believe you are correct when you said that he hasn't necessarily sinned- but.... he is an abomination. Angels and Demons have been forever separated, and are separated for a reason. Him being both kinds would bring chaos into our worlds," she states.

"Or- what if he decides to have an offspring? What kind of creature would he create? It is just not fit for him to live on," she continues.

"I agree," the Chief Demon replies. "Since both Chiefs agree- there is no need for the votes of the rest of the council. He was living in hiding against our law for 24 years. The Angel Demon is hear-by sentenced to the eternal flames along with his parents," the Chief of the Soul Keepers pronounces.

"No!" I shout. Cheers are heard all throughout the open arena, as Soul Keeper guards rush my way to take me down to the eternal flames.

They pull me away with force out of the court area, and into space. "Get off me! I did nothing wrong!" I exclaim. They ignore my cries obviously, obligated to follow the Chief's command.

Usually, the power of Angels or Demons don't work on Soul Keepers, but since I am a mixture of both.....maybe I can fight them.

I unleash my golden wings, and it immediately pushes them away from me. My wings are extremely big, and they are golden- unlike the usual light or dark wings.

An Angel's wings are pure white, while a Demon's wings are black or dark grey.

Mine are gold.

I turn around quickly, using my left wing to decapitate two Soul Keepers behind me. Technically they can't die due to this because they are Supernatural, but they will be unresponsive and basically dead for about two hours before they regenerate. One of the Keepers pull out their blade and grab on to my wing.

I try to shake him off, but he stays firmly on my wing. I then stabs his blade into the part of my wing that connects to my back.

I roar out in pain, as he begins to cut my wing off. I quickly use my energy to shock the Soul Keeper- frying his brain. He managed to cut 1/5 of the way into my wing, and it was an excruciating pain.

Since we are in space, I could only hover or fly. I could not settle anywhere unless I went back to the court room. I could not fly up to heaven, or down to lands of hell, because I would be captured there.

I turn to look at the last Soul Keeper, who is extremely scared.

He doesn't hesitate to fly away back to the court room.

I need to leave quickly before they find me and capture me.

I glance at the planets and dimensions I can go that will help  me escape. "Earth will do," I mumble to myself. I quickly soar towards the big green and blue planet.

I struggle to fly and I loose control and go free falling towards earth.
