She couldn't believe what she had learned. Not only was she a werewolf, which if she admitted it she thought it was cool, but vampires exist. One kidnapped her. One drank her blood. Her mind was still reeling from the news hours later.
She was alone now. Had been since Rage had left her the night before. He made her eat every bite of the soup. He left as soon as she had eaten her food. She hadn't wanted him to go. She wanted to talk. To talk about anything. She wanted to know more about him. She missed the safe feeling he gave her. She misses the complete feeling she felt when he was near. How was it that he could make her feel like that? Why did she like it so much? Why him and not anyone before him? What was special about Rage?
The door opened and in came Ari, the doctor, she remembered. She carried a tray of food. Ari set it on the table and turned to her.
"How are you feeling this morning?" Ari asked as she put gloves on. "Any pain?"
"No pain, yet." She told her as Ari lifted her shirt to look at the wounds on her stomach.
"Perfect." Was all ari said before she took off the gloves.
Joy glanced down and saw that the cuts were barely there. How could that be? It was a shock to her to see it.
Ari chuckled, "Its normal. We heal fast. You just took a bit longer because you were dehydrated and malnourished."
"We? Are you a werewolf too?" Joy heard herself asking.
"We prefer the term wolf." Ari nodded. "All of us here in the compound are."
Joy carefully sat up. She expected pain but was shocked when she didn't feel any. She watched as Ari slid the table into place so she could eat. The food smelled delicious. Eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns. Everything she liked for a good hearty breakfast.
"Thank you." Joy said. "I appreciate it."
"Your welcome." Ari told her with a smile. "After you eat, I'll bring you some fresh clothes, that arent scrubs, and you can shower."
Joy smiled. "Sounds good. Thank you."
"Stop thanking me. You are one of us."
Ari left after that, leaving Joy alone to eat. She ate quickly because she was starving and the food was amazing. Nothing like the hospital food she usually ate.
The thought of the hospital made her realize she needed to get back to work. Even though she had heard Rage tell Ari she couldn't go back. She needed to work. She had bills to pay. Things to take care of. She couldn't let her kidnapping ruin how she lived her life. After she ate her breakfast, she planned on finding Ari, getting the shower she was promised and finding a way to convince them she needed yo go home. She just had to get back to her life.

Rage watched all the recruits. Newly changed male wolves who wanted to protect their compound, work through the warm up he had given them. He had to make sure they were ready to join the ranks. Had to make sure they were ready to protect. He wouldn't promote them until they proved it.
He saw Arrogance coming. His long blonde hair flowing behind him. Arrogance looked worried. This concerned Rage. Arrogance was usually calm and happy. Seeing him worried told him something was wrong. He handed off the training to his training partner for the day.  Indulgence. Arrogances twin, though they didn't look like it. Indulgence had red hair but he had green eyes. Arrogance had blue eyes that stood out like diamonds against his light hair.
"There's a problem." Arrogance told him when they met up.
Rage frowned. "What problem?"
"It's the female. The one you rescued." Arrogance explained with a frown.
"What about her?" Rage asked, suddenly nervous.
"She told Ari that since she was healed she needed to go home. She wants to go back to that hospital." Arrogance told him.
"Where is Joy now?"
"With Ari at the clinic still. Ari sent me for you."
He didn't have to hear more. He had to get to the clinic and explain why she couldn't leave. He raced through the compound. When he reached the clinic, he saw both arAri and Joy sitting on the waiting areas chairs.
"I could use you here. I only have a few nurses. Extra hands means extra time off for them. Plus with Summer pregnant, she will be put for quite some time here soon." He heard Ari say.
Joy did not respond so he went inside. He hadn't wanted to eavesdrop on their conversation, but if Ari convinced her to stay then he wouldn't have to. Joy was wearing a pair of jeans and a long sleeved black shirt. Her long black hair was pulled into a long braid down her back. She wore a pair of sandals, which he knew to belong to Ari.
"Arrogance told me you needed me." He said as if he hadn't heard part of their conversation.
"She is trying to keep me here. Telling me that its not possible for me to leave." Joy said with a bit of anger. "I thought I was rescued from being held prisoner."
He sighed, he feared this would happen. "Look, you aren't a prisoner. You aren't being held against your will. It's just safer for you here. Dimitri, the vampire who took you, is still alive. He will be hunting for you. He won't hesitate to kill anyone who gets in his way of getting to you."
"So it's safer for me to remain here? Remain missing? Forget about my life, my job. The job I love. I have bills. Responsibilities waiting for me back home." She told him. She had tears in her eyes.
"We can offer you a job here. We can give you any job you want." He told her. "Here you are protected."
He didn't get to finish what he was about to say because the clinic door burst open. Arrogance and Indulgence came rushing in carrying two of the trainees. Both were bleeding. Ari and Joy both jumped up. Ari led the men to the rear of the clinic with Joy closely behind. She seemed to have forgotten all about returning home. For now. He sat down in a chair and waited for Arrogance and Indulgence to come and explain what happened. They couldn't afford to have amy injured trainees right now.
Indulgence came out first. "Levi and Flynn were sparring. Apparently they don't understand what sparring means."
"Weren't you guys watching what was going on?" He demanded as Arrogance joined them.
"We were. They were fine until we turned our backs when another match ended. That's when they went balls out. We broke it up as fast as we could, but not before they both took good sized chunks out of each other." Arrogance told him.
"They are to be placed on a probationary period. I was about to promote them too." Rage growled. "Anyone else get out of line?"
"Not at all. A few of the newcomers are a bit behind but with work will train up fast." Indulgence told him. "We ended training early, so we avoided this again."
Rage nodded. "Good. Once these two are patched up and ready to leave, they report to me. We need a chat."
The men nodded and he left. He didn't want to sit around letting this news of the trainees injuring each other. Trainees often like to think because they are wolves and trainees, they can get away with more. He doesn't allow that at all. They knew the rules. It looked like he needed to have a chat with all the trainees.
