Sitting in the back of Chemistry while Travis shamelessly flirted with the beauty from this morning made Larry's blood boil, for reasons unknown to him at the time.
"Ugh. Who does he think he is?" The worst part of all of this, he decided, was Sal flirting back. Larry groaned and let the weight of his head remove his eyes from the gentle hand barely grazing over Travis'. He heard a soft giggle erupt from the girl beside him and felt a hand softly pat his tangled hair.
"Aw, Larry, are you jealous?" She teased, pulling her hand away from the dark brown locks.
"NO!" He retorted while flinging his head from the table and knocking his pencil off. Maybe that was a bit too loud. He glanced around to catch everyone staring, including the teacher.
"U-Uh, you can't uhm... You can't put magnesium on the burner or it'll explode?" He raised his eyebrow and closely inspected the teacher's expression.
"Very well done, Larry. I'm impressed." He sighed with relief and shook his head before noticing the frail body looming next to his desk.
"H-Hello." He called calmly and held out Larry's pencil.
"Oh, hi. Thank you so much." He spoke as if any misstep would scare him off, and flashed an award winning smile. Gently reaching out, he took the pencil out of the boys hand as he let his fingertips graze his skin.
"Uhm... I'm Sally. My friends called me Sally Face." He nodded and kept his hand out for a shake.
"Welcome to Nockfell, Sal, I'm Larry. This is Ashley. Also... Sally Face? Your friends call you that?" He questioned as he shook his hand, noticing a different emotion flash behind his eyes, almost as if he was wearing two masks that he didn't want anyone to see.
"Yea... I guess I didn't have any decent friends, but I figured if I owned the name then the assholes couldn't use it against me." He shrugged slightly, scratching a bit at his arm.
"That's a really cool way to look at things. You're alright, Sal." Larry smiled once he saw those beautiful blue eyes crinkle at the edges. He nodded thankfully and made his way back to his shared desk beside Travis. Larry smiled as he watched the smaller take a seat and, without warning, turn back to look at him. He also noticed how Travis smiled and lit up once Sally turned back to the front of the class and his attention was back on him. It was something straight out of a lifetime movie, and Larry could not have that under any circumstances. It was right then and there that Larry began to devise his master plan.~
"Operation Sally Face? Very inconspicuous, Larry." Todd laughed at the name, rolling his eyes as he pulled his food out of his lunch box.
"Okay so we need a code name... How about Blueberry." Chug suggested, taking a huge bite out of his sloppy Joe, which was a very fitting name so far.
"No, too obvious... How about Phantom! We can call him Phantom, cause if you take away the pink part of his mask it looks like Phantom of the Opera." Ash suggested, to which Larry's attention peaked.
"Hey, yea, you're right! Its perfect, so the plan is called Operation Phantom." He declared, head held high in accomplishment.
"We sound like ghost hunters." Todd laughed which caused him to snort ever so slightly. The whole table watched as Neil physically melted over his boyfriend.
"Okay well, count me out of your shenanigans. Something always goes wrong." Maple held her hands up as if to declare herself a distant part of the group.
"What? Name one time any of my plans have ever gone wrong!" Larry slammed a hand over his heart in fake distain.
"Uh, literally last week! You decided it would be fun to hotbox your room and your mom came home early!" She yelled back, slamming her hands back onto the table.
"Okay, to be fair, that was a really bad idea." Larry laughed at himself, rubbing his arm.
"Exactly." Maple chuckled as the table giggled at the two of them, and pat Larry's arm softly.702 Word Count
